I should clarify a bit.
Michelle/Kilgore did not "scam" the community.
She was given $100 of prize money to distribute regarding contests during the Friday radio special.
She also pledged $50 donation of her own.
She has distributed $57 of that money, and sent $40 to me.
That left a total of $53. However, $50 of that was her own donation, which I still felt she should be responsible for.
I received some e-mail communication from her tonight stating that she wished to leave the PFA community, due to being "pushed out", and did not want to donate that $50 anymore. She said that she would pay the balance (which is only $3, and obv doesn't matter).
At first I was going to tell her GTFO with the donation takeback, but perhaps she has a point.
Not all of the donation money was used (unless I'm missing something), so we can just remove that $50 from the "pool for next time" without much impact.
Other than that, I am not aware of any financial improprieties on her part regarding PFA members or anyone in the poker community.
With that said, clearly she has not been completely honest about herself or her recent past, and given what we have learned about her, she's the last one I would want holding PFA contest dollars.
Her "legal troubles" are not necessarily our business. She's not obligated to explain herself. At the same time, I am not going to suppress discussion of what has been found. The community has a right to know when an active new member has had multiple recent arrests related to fraud.
My guess is that this is more a product of some kind of addiction -- perhaps drugs, perhaps gambling, perhaps both. These addictions are ones which this community can relate to, as many members have been there themselves.
I encourage Michelle to come out here and simply level with us, and I think perhaps she will find more understanding than she assumed.
However, it would also be understandable if she wants to simply leave.
I will probably go back and remove the links to the pages with identifying information on her.

I did have some suspicions about some of her stories, and some things she said didn't quite add up. But she seemed harmless enough, and people seemed to enjoy her presence here, so I didn't say anything.
Many here also had quiet doubts about her, and that's why some people started googling a few days ago, and came upon those arrests. I wasn't part of that effort. It was brought to my attention after it was found.
Again, since none of her transgressions seem to have involved PFA users (or any poker player I know of), I think people here would be interested in hearing her real story.
Some of this site's beloved characters have been in trouble with the law, and people here are fairly forgiving about that stuff, provided that the victims weren't from the poker community.
I know Kilgore has posted some about trying to overcome various addictions lately. If these crimes were part of hitting rock bottom as a result of an addiction, I think it would make for an interesting story out here.

I was the one that got rolled. Recently my mother passed and I was having a little trouble affording the funeral and a proper resting place. I purchased a cemetery plot from Karen A. Trout, and I thought it was a very fair deal. It was a beautiful spot on the side of a hill, under a maple tree, overlooking a lovely meadow. Sadly, the hill experienced some erosion and now Edith Oven is exposed to the elements. I asked for my money back to move mother to a more appropriate resting place but Miss Trout has vanished.

Here is my decision what is and is not allowed about Kilgore Trout on this site, provided that the situation remains that she didn't roll anyone here (and that she didn't commit scams within the poker community):
- Reposting or photoshopping pictures she has voluntarily shared IS allowed
- Posting her first name IS allowed
- Discussing her recent legal troubles IS allowed
- Posting her full name is NOT allowed
- Posting links to mugshot sites (or screen shots of them) which contain her full name is NOT allowed
- Posting mugshot site screenshots with redacted info which still allow the viewer to figure out her info is NOT allowed
- Posting mugshot pictures is NOT allowed
- Posting links to sites carrying info regarding her criminal matters is NOT allowed
I am trying to balance the community's best interests and ability to discuss relevant issues (in this case, a member arrested multiple times for fraud-related crimes) with the interests of privacy of that user here (someone with a recent criminal history who nevertheless has not harmed anyone on PFA or in poker, to my knowledge).
