I put down 650k for a total of 1.45m plus the lot which I payed for in cash (235k). I deposited 10k into the bank for a lower interest rate. It's interest only until the house is completed like 3.45% I think. The bank uses my down payment against the builder draws before the loan money. To date, the builder has drawn around 50% so I think of the 10k deposited like 9200 is still there as of last statement. I won't have to dole out any more money until closing which is probably Oct or Nov. That's when it may get dicey because I'll need close to 50k to close.
If I can get 2 mil I'm dumping this thing after a year. We'll see. Some NFL all pro lives across the street I found out. Muck would know who he is. I have no clue.

House is nice, but $5500 a month is quite absurd, unless you have like 4 kids which you don't. You are going to AC rooms every day you never even go in. It's kind of like getting a house with a pool. You get it, then never swim in it, total waste. There is a good thing though. You sell the house and get a house that costs $3,000 a month. Then you can do stupid shit every month like gambling and justify it saying you just saved all this money by downsizing. In the example I just set, you save $2,500 a month x 12 months is $30,000. That's a lot of partying. I have done this self justification before after losing large sums of money.
