ESPN's Britt McHenry seems to act like a bitch to a parking lot attendant -- but was it justified?

Here is the basic litmus test for towing.

If the owner/manager of the property where cars are being towed from is making a regular profit from towing, then it's predatory.

The only profit in towing should come to the tow company.

Once kickbacks are involved, then it's obviously a situation where tow companies are LOOKING to tow cars and are trying to find lot owners to report flimsy "violations" for a tow-for-profit scheme, rather than tow-out-of-necessity as it should be.

California recognized this, and put a smackdown on this situation by requiring an hour to pass in an otherwise public lot.

LOL @ anyone who thinks that these business owners in lie-in-wait tow schemes are just asserting their rights to keep unauthorized people out of their lots.

But yeah, go ahead and be played for a chump when you park for 5 minutes in a situation like this when you literally have no other choice for parking, pay the $300 to get your car back, and blame yourself instead of the predatory business owner/tow truck company.

They count on you to have the "It's their lot, they had a right to do this" state of mind for the scheme to work.

When this happened to me, I recognized immediately the scam it really was, challenged them to prove what I was "guilty" of, and got my money back.

But if you want to be proud of being a chump, under the banner of "business owners' rights", go right ahead.

I get what you're saying, and agree with you, but really the whole other legit side of this argument is a person in her position needs to show more class and not sink to the level of insults that she sank to.

I get both sides of this. She probably was somewhat in the right, but she now comes off as an elitist bitch, and people don't like elitist bitches.

I wasn't trying to justify her actions by saying she was probably somewhat in the right. Just agreeing that not being able to see what was said by the fat chick with no teeth was shady and it might not have been as one sided as this tape makes it out to be.

Item: Once the video blew up, “someone in McHenry’s camp” told MSNBC that the tape was edited—which is obvious when you watch it—but also admitted that any edits didn’t justify McHenry’s actions. The interesting thing here was the existence of her “camp.” (For perspective, note that neither Bill Simmons nor Keith Olbermann has a “camp.”)
