The "Texas is more central" argument is idiotic, because the US is geographically big, to where most metro areas require a flight to other metro areas. It doesn't really matter if you're flying 1500 miles or 3000 miles -- it's still a flight.

Interesting place to visit in greater Atlanta. In my one brief visit to that city, I chose to go there. It was a good choice. You do need a rental car to get there.

It was a nice hike, albeit a bit steep at the end (though there's a metal rail they installed you could hold, which was very helpful on the way down). A bit slippery so you had to watch out when coming down, as the rock is smooth in some places.

Unfortunately at the top, it was foggy that day, so I couldn't see what is supposed to be a nice view. That was the only disappointment. There's also apparently some light show they do at night sometimes, but it wasn't going on the day I was there.

You can see planes landing at hartsfield from what I recall. As a younger man we used to take dates to the laser show at night. Could bring blankets and coolers then.

Interesting aside:
My grandfather was offered the opportunity to buy it before the state did. He said it was just a big rock and didn’t have the foresight or reserves to develop it I suppose. Anyway, it’s worth doing if in Atl w some time.

Nope…according to an IG post he flat left the mastermind crew last night in lake Charles and ran off to Biloxi. Now he’s claiming he’s gone gone back to Lake Charles for tonight where he will make a quick 5K before heading home.

It’s a 4 hour drive each way between Lake Charles and Biloxi. Plus it’s 5 more hours back to Frisco. That poor kid has no choice in this matter.
