Former Trump biographer says that Trump brand is likely suffering due to his attempt to become President:

I take what I read on CNN about Trump with a grain of salt. Never have I seen them so biased against one Presidential candidate. They were mildly biased for past Democratic candidates, but at least gave the outward appearance of neutrality. With Trump they don't even try. Nearly every headline is one bashing him.
Still, this is an accurate article.
Prior to the election, Trump was seen as a successful, entertaining, brash, albeit flawed man. There were some black marks -- the bankruptcies, the Obama birther movement, the Rosie feuds...
But for the most part these were mostly not on people's minds. When you heard the name Donald Trump, you generally thought of a rich guy who owned a lot of hotels, went through various younger wives, had a fairly hot daughter, and liked to say "You're fired!" on TV.
While he had his detractors (myself included), most Americans admired him and his name on a property was a positive.
I don't think that's the case anymore.
He has alienated more than half the country, especially women.
His business model in recent years was to lease the Trump name for projects he didn't otherwise have anything to do with. I can't imagine that name is too valuable anymore, unless it's a business aimed at his core base.
