Just watched it, wow, dogs night out. Would love to see Rothwell get the belt eventually. Sage should insta-rename to Marjoram, Bader is the WOAT. Why the hell is Bader still in there?

Its a pretty stagnant division. Outside of Gus, Johnson, and Cormier fighting for the chance to get eye poked by Jones, you have retro acts and a bunch of sloppy ass juice apes who win just enough to avoid getting sent packing to Bellator (usually). Bader went over 2 years without a loss by avoiding Johnson, Gus, and Cormier basically.
Speaking of which, how great would it be if Cormier injures himself and has to drop out of his fight with Jones so Johnson faces him. I would fly to Vegas to max out books on Johnson in that spot.
I dont recall Jones trading in the pocket with anyone with KO power. He just seems to like to pick people apart from the outside and then capitalize on an opponent in a vulnerable position.
And to be honest, I think thats going to be his undoing against Johnson. Jones plan is most likely to just crabstep laterally around the edge of the cage for 5 minutes and hope Johnson gasses, but I really dont think Johnson's going go 5 full minutes without being able to cut him off and land a punch, and thats all its going to take, and instead of saying "Wow Johnson is actually that dangerous" a small army of very vocal faggots are going to speak on how Jones was never the same since blah blah blah and I'm not going to care because I'll be too busy stuffing hundred dollar bills in my pillowcase and taking the worst most luxurious nap.
hey jace, greaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat story
my secret hope is that Bones comes back as an unstoppable brutal champion. AJ comes forward, Bones turns AJ's knees into jelly with those kicks that Rampage always complains about. Bones brutalizes the guy for like 2 full rounds, puts him out bad in the third. AJ needs surgery on his knees, is gonna be out for a good year at least, but he probably punches a bitch somewhere along the line, the UFC is forced to drop him, and he never fights in the UFC again.
Bader getting smashed by Johnson is even more ironic since Bader was bitching and screaming after Cormier won the title that he (Bader) deserved the next title shot.. Gonna guess Dana is laughing at Bader's antics now given how badly Rumble beat him down.. I'm interested to see if Jones can effectively and safely cut down as some of his pics show him as a solid HW currently and the new cut rules banning IVs might just be a problem for Jones.. Honestly Jones moving up to HW wouldn't be the worst thing anyway considering the mess that's going on with Velasquez getting hurt again, Werdum getting hurt.. Jones moving up to HW and taking the belt and holding it for a 2-3 yr period might allow the weight class to stabilize and get some of the pretenders out of UFC after he crushes several chumps. (This all assuming Jones can keep his nose clean figuratively and literally).
Honestly tho people have been saying that not only is it a miracle that Jones cuts to LHW on his best day, but that doing so and showing up at fight time with a huge weight advantage is a cornerstone of his success in the division. Nothing would make me happier than seeing him miss weight AND get hulk smashed by Johnson tho.
But yeah with the IV ban, who knows? I agree, it would be good for the sport if he could no longer fight at LHE.
Betting Rosholt this weekend @ +140 against big country,
Noons at +140, I'm just not entirely sold on Burkman's comeback.
When I was in Montreal this weekend I met up with a sharp who bets pretty big on UFC, and he's also on Rosholt at +140. I like the bet and am also taking him at +135. I would also bet that he wins in a decision as well as his gameplan will most likely be to try to use his wrestling, and take down Nelson as much as possible and stay away from that right hand. I've seen that at +150 at most places, and its going down as we speak.
Hendricks was lookin' way small at the weigh-in. Anybody picking him to tid?
Pre USADA? All day.

the hendricks deal is strange. his new nutritionist is some Louis something guy who does Loutrition. the idea seems to be that johny is gonna stay around 185, 190 all the time outside of fight camps, and has been right around 170 all week, even waking up on weigh-in day at like 168. They aren't cutting any weight at all, ever, pretty much. Downside of not cutting is johny will be the smaller guy in every singe fight from this point out, or at least until he ditches this guy so he can have cake and steak and ice cream in the offseason.
I was listening to an interview with this lou guy, and its so funny because he seems to care just as much about arguing about Dolce as anything else. I'm not exactly a dolce nuthugger, but it wasn't Dolce's fault that johny kept coming into his camps heavier and heavier every time he had a fight, and he was making weight with Dolce (the time he had to weigh in twice, seems like everyone agrees that was a hotel scale problem, and he made weight anyway an hour later anyway). Same deal as Kelvin Gastellum, IMO. You hire a guy, you love his results, but you think he's too expensive and you can do it yourself, except you go out and prove you can't, you lose fights, your body shuts down, you ruin any progress you had been making in your career, and you end up with a fraction of the pay you would have had if you stayed the course and kept Dolce and made weight.
Unless you are frankie edgar, I think pretty much everyone else who has tried the "fight at regular weight without cutting" quickly finds out the bigger fighter is almost always stronger and more powerful. Hendricks may win because Wonderboy ain't exactly a grappling champ and the weight might not matter too much in this fight, but it will. Very soon. 155ers fight heavier than Johny is right now.
Is this the first UFC death?
Scumbags won't show the doctors working on the guy in the cage.
UFC awards were, I think, last night, in Vegas.
This was Conor McGregor's acceptance video for an award. He had something special to say about Verdum for pulling out of a fight.

I decided to put some action on Thompson because Hendricks has arguably the worst training program I've ever heard of. It's 100% possible that everything I've seen him talking about and doing is misinformation, in which case gg Hendricks, you got me, but jesus christ he's literally strength training with Tough Man fags.
Also Koons went from +145 to +115 so at least I got in on the right side of that line.
Scoggins as a meme:
Holy fuck Scoggins must be delusional or just figured out how to get noticed. Probably the latter.
I have absolutely no idea what Noons is doing or why he even bothered to show up.
1 - 1 I guess but the biggest loser here is the audience.
I've seen better fights at bus stops.
Interesting, I'm surprised everyone on earth gave rd 3 to Burkman. Rd 2 not so much but what did Burkman do in rd3 except 1 takedown at 4:30 that he never capitalized on?
Noons needs to be cut, and Im betting on virtually anyone who faces Burkman next.
Swear to god I thought to myself "guy needs a mullet bonus" a whole round before Stann said do.
OSP is winning a fight with one leg.
How the fuck do you score this shit?
Its going to be Nelson by moving forward, aka pressure. All those exchanges where the other fatboy runs away puts him further behind on the cards.
