I fucking hate unions. Not very liberal of me I suppose. I feel like there is no party that reflects my ideals or values.

Alexei Navalny, 40, a lawyer and political activist, maintains he will challenge Vladimir Putin in Russia's 2018 presidential election. On Wednesday, he was found guilty of embezzlement charges going back to 2012.
A Russian court on Wednesday handed a five-year suspended sentence to prominent opposition leader Alexei Navalny after finding him guilty of embezzlement, a move that will complicate his plans to run for president against Vladimir Putin in 2018.
Navalny, one of Putin's harshest critics, said he would appeal the sentence and take part in the presidential race regardless.
"We don't recognize this ruling," said Navalny. "I have every right to take part in the election according to the Constitution, and I will do so."
since this is the default political thread, this would be a good place to point out that ted cruz is awkward as fuck.

You've never made a good point against me yet, using facts from the reality-based community. Alternative facts aka made up bullshit maybe.
You and your butt buddies dish and Tyde are good at completely ignoring facts and your own hypocrisy though, congratulations for overcoming reality.
:(
TYDE has won this thread
until we implement some form of compassionate governance with an eye towards wealth distribution to the working class, ill support unions without flinching. whatever evils they are responsible are wildly eclipsed by the leverage they wield for workers rights, or so it seems to me from the outside looking in.
This^
Unions provide better wages, better benefits, a safer workplace and protection for workers. Sure they aren't perfect but people are much better off with unions than w/o unions.
Union membership has been on a steady decline and it's no coindence that wages have been on a steady decline too.
i really see no common ground between black and green olives. like id never have a black olive in a martini, and id never include green olives in my chili.
i barely consider them related biologically.
green olives need to get their shit together and fire their PR agent or something because honestly im getting tired of seeing them around.
I hate that they try to tell me what to do with my business. I'm the one risking all the money and and taking all the risk. I don't appreciate what amounts to a shake down from people that don't have the best interest of my company in mind. They want the most money possible and that is all.
I hate that they reward time with a company instead of performance... If a 25 year old does a better job and is brighter than the 50 year old, I should be able to pay the 25 year old more money and put him in whatever position I want if his skills and body of work are superior.
I hate that shitty employees get protected by these unions as well. If you show up drunk and drive a truck through a work site, I should be able to fire you from my own company. Instead the union will say the person is an alcoholic and that I have to pay for them to get help.
Unions served their purpose during the depression they make absolutely no sense today and has become legalized cronyism.
Of course you hate unions you own the business, id hate them too if I were the owner of the company. Unions protect the workers not the business owners.
Have you ever worked in the trades? Im sure you know guys who do or have. Do you not think trade union workers need union protection?
Do you think the construction companies will put workers safety before profits?
In President Trump’s Cabinet, 17 out of 20 positions have been filled by men. (Furthermore, 15 of those 17 men are white men.)
I just don't get why I would let someone else tell me how to run my own business and who I get to promote and how much I have to pay.
I have family that are in unions. Some in construction jobs for the last 30 years. They make decent money, but the construction company has remained the same size for 15 years. It's tough to grow and expand when you are being forced to pay insanely high wages.
In my tech companies, all my guys make over 130k with the exception of 1 person. There is a low number of people that can take my algorithms and write the proper code and architecture to bring them to life. The market has decided I need to pay a high price to get what I want or someone else will.
There are plenty of people that can learn how to work a lot of trade jobs relatively quickly. I respect these people a lot and they deserve to be paid fairly. Let the market decide what they should be paid. There are plenty of jobs, if I am not paying you well for fitting a pipe, then go somewhere where they will pay you more.
And I suppose that's my biggest issue. Unions are always telling you what you should be getting paid and how much I as an owner should be paying.... but these assholes never offer them any work. When one of our workers came to us at our refrigeration company and said that some union guys said he should be making $67 an hour. We told him that we agree and that he should go with them if that's what they are going to pay him. We might only pay $27 an hour, but you get 50 hours a week 52 weeks a year.
because for every small business owner like you who would perform merit based compensation, there are huge conglomerates of honkies who fuck the working man to shreds so their executives can take home 7 figure bonuses.
i think you should be exempt from putting up with union faggotry, but i think that we have seen ample evidence of the damage economic predators would do if they were allowed to operate with impunity.
Said it better than I could have said it.
The working man is getting destroyed while fat cat suits are being overpaid.Unions ensure that the working man at least gets a fair wage and is not exposed to dangerous work conditions. If the companies had their way OSHA would not exist
Agreed mumbles but brown people killed at least 3000 on 9/11 and ruined many many lives. The ban is garbage and unamerican but let's not sit here and act as if these radical islamic terrorists are not a huge problem for the U.S and the ROW
Motherfuckers are driving trucks into people shopping at christmas markets, and shooting up nightclubs.Something needs to be done to stop this nonsense.
Comments thesidedish: stupid, trust in media was running at about 6% during the election, anybody can beat that
Thanks for clarifying my point, sort of.
The fact that your President is boastful in being slightly less more full of shit than the corrupt media should terrify you.
But we know it doesn't terrify you, as you are a good little rentboy.
The free market usually tends to work itself out.

Gorsuch calls Trump's judge attacks 'demoralizing' and 'disheartening'
http://www.politico.com/story/2017/0...h-judge-234812Quote:
Donald Trump's nominee for the Supreme Court distanced himself from the president on Wednesday, calling Trump's attacks on a federal judge "demoralizing" and "disheartening."
Neil Gorsuch made the comments in a meeting with Sen. Richard Blumenthal, a Connecticut Democrat, when he was asked about Trump's attacks on Twitter and in speeches.
A Gorsuch spokesman confirmed the comments were made during the Wednesday afternoon meeting, when he was asked about the "so-called judge" line.
absolutely fascinated to see how trump reacts to this
