I think I heard as late as last show the boy is 7.
Chavez Ravine
Bottom of 7th inning
Faint orange glow and smoke in left field stands
Ben: "Hey Dad, why are the Mexicans trying to burn down the stadium?"
Todd: "Forget the Mexicans son, I have something I want to tell you. I'm your father but I'm not perfect. I don't know baseball but your Uncle Lew does."
Ben: "Can I have some popcorn?"
Todd: "Ben! You won't understand this now but someday you will. I bet the Astros pitchers Verlander & McCuller before the game.
Ben: "I thought we wanted the Dodgers to win?"!
Todd: "We do but we had a fun day at the game. We had 3 pizzas. We gave that old Jew Larry King sitting next to us a slice. Because I didn't confuse fun with reality I bet the Astros and we enjoyed this day for free."
Ben: "I want a Benjamin or I'm gonna tell sanlmar about this"
Todd peels off a $100 with a faint expression of pride
Todd: "It's the 7th inning so we need to get going. When we get home I want you to write a thank you note on the PFA forum. It will be your first post."
Ben: "Okay Dad. I'm gonna remember this day forever! Is Larry King's wife a MILF?"
kind of true
i don't care what anyone says, hockey is definitely the best game to watch live for any rando game.
like hockeyguy is alluding to you need to sit up slightly higher for the whole scope.
also sucks for the palace that the pistons left too, i can honestly say theres not a bad seat in the house.
Verlander is going to choke game 6.
Unless I get really good seats for Game 6 (unlikely, given the prices), Benjamin probably wouldn't enjoy a World Series game at this point.
One of the main reasons he enjoyed the games I took him to thus far was because we had great seats with an excellent view of the game. He wasn't watching little ants on the field.
If I took him to a substantially worse view, he would tune out, even in a World Series game.
He's not invested enough in the idea of the Dodgers winning the World Series to where it would be super-meaningful, especially if his view of the game wasn't excellent.
When he gets older, I'm sure that will change.
Prices are falling rapidly, so I am waiting to see what happens.
He wouldn't want to go tomorrow on Halloween anyway.
When Benjamin gets older, you have to show him this thread where a bunch of random guys plead you to take him to the game.
He can go trick or treating every year. It's not every year you see Dodgers in the World Series.
Sometimes we need to make hard decisions for our loved ones, that they not might not like initially but its best for them.
leeee sigh, guess im going to the wings game. according to my friends theres a lot of bars in and around the stadium to watch the world series, so i get to go to a game i dont care about and pay like 8x the price for drinks to watch the game I do care about.
Astros open +115 --> -115 --> +105
Was someone indicted? This seems pretty clear cut. What is with the whipsaw?
