Mediocre middle relief vs very good.
Tigers had great starters. You thought ball would look like beach ball to Red Sox after the Tigers. I think Tigers wrecked the Sox heads. Lost any sense of the plate they ever had.
Meanwhile, the Cardinals have a deep strong staff - starters, middle & close. Better than Sox. Sox have Uehara who is overachieving & running good, so far.
Just gotta outlast the Cardinals if you can.
Loving all these errors from the BoSox though, little bad karma for big dog jr china for bringing up the tigers in 06.

I think the last play of the game tonight was a direct result of outstanding scouting. There is absolutely no reason whatsoever that I can think of to cover first in that situation, especially with a left hander at the plate, unless of course you know that Wong has a little hitch in his leads. Might not have been the most exciting finish, but you gotta love watching the coaching chess matches that you only see in baseball.
Great series so far, has to go 7. I have a good friend who is a die hard Cards fan, so much so that her and her husband spent their honeymoon going to the WS when they won the last one. Her mom died of a heart attack the day after they won it BTW, talk about bittersweet. Brutal. At any rate, she's prego now. I told her before this series started that it would probably be best if she somehow didn't watch, cause I knew this was gonna be some stressful shit for both sides. These teams are so evenly matched it had to go no less than 6.

That Home run Gomes hit changed the entire series. I was thinking why would they put this bum behind Big Papi it really makes no sense. Then he closes his eyes and swings and makes contact with the ball the first time all series and it goes out of the park. SL was solid up and down. Def weren't healthy which was obv but that's part of the game.
IMO they need a little more pop. The order up and down is pretty solid and they get on base but more pop is needed IMO
