Accused murderer Jodi Arias was confronted today with a barrage of lies she told after she killed her ex-boyfriend Travis Alexander, but she twice defiantly declared that she was innocent of first degree murder.
"It's the truth. I'm innocent of that charge," Arias said to prosecutor Juan Martinez, referring to the criminal charge that could carry the threat of the death sentence if she is found guilty.
Arias admitted on the stand that she lied for months and years after killing her ex-boyfriend, telling investigators and friends that she had nothing to do with Alexander's grisly death, in which he was stabbed 27 times, his throat was slashed, and he was shot in the head.
Eventually, Arias confessed to the killing, but claims it was in self-defense.
Today, prosecutors hammered Arias about her lying, getting her to admit to lies she told and playing video of her police interrogation and a TV interview in which she told stories that she has since conceded were not true.

Jodi Arias Prosecutor Juan Martinez Scrutinized For Intense Approach During Testimony
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/0...n_2805060.html
Jodi Arias has told her story. I have listened to her version and compared it to the evidence. From this analysis I have come up with what I see as my three biggest problems with Jodi Arias’ story.

I think at this point the only question is whether or not she gets the death penalty.
There have been so many mistakes on both sides here that there really is no guarantee she will be convicted. I've been watching a lot about this for a while now and most law experts agree that Martinez has pretty much made every move that a prosecutor is not supposed to make, but... Given the degree of ridiculousness of her entire defense it is truly a slap in the face to anyone with a working brain that there is a chance this jury will not be able to come to a guilty verdict... That's the way our justice system works. Fun.
If only there was a threat that if she were to be aquitted all the Mormons would rise up and riot all over AZ...lol
Off-topic somewhat. Today on the stand Arias was talking about Travis having vaginal sex with her, and she said she wasn't sure he was even awake. This is irrelevant imo regarding the case, even she didn't claim it as some type of rape in reality.
The part I am interested in is that they cut to the black in-studio guy. He said something along the lines of " there has never been a man in the history of the world to be having sex while asleep."
I would say on a dozen occasions in the past 25 years I have awoke to find myself already full on engaged in intercourse. All these occasions were with women I already was intimate with on multiple occasions, and none took offense in the slightest. They kind of either found it funny, or complimentary that I was attracted to them even while in REM stage sleep. I think this is likely because I sleep on my side, and I'm generally a spooner with women, and somewhere in my brain, the friction or whatever arouses me and I start taking them from behind before I wake. To be honest, I never really thought much about it, have never inquired to a friend if it had happened to them, and generally just assumed it was somewhat standard.
After hearing this guy's comment today, am I an anomaly? or has this happened to you?
Possibly, that's why I ask, but given it was probably 75% with my ex-wife, she eventually raped me much longer, harder, and better in domestic relations court. I would have sleep killed her had I known.
For the record, I still am not sold this is going to be a guilty to Murder 1. I think it certainly is worthy of it, but I just see some crazy juror seeing it as if she went to all this trouble to conceal her trip, she would have simply killed him and got out of there, or killed him while he was sleeping and not staying a full day and a half or however long. I see a holdout for M2, thinking there had to be a self-defense element to it. If Travis had suddenly became smitten again that day and invited her to Cancun, he's still alive. That's irrelevant, but a freaky thought.
Oddly draw in by Jodi Arias. Been watching the trial since the beginning and at first was totally anti-jodii but am starting to be turned pro-jodii(have no idea why, but she is flippin me). Martinez blowing up his spot big time. Thanks for links LLL.
Jurors in Jodi Arias' murder trial have submitted about 100 questions they want put to the accused killer on their behalf, the judge said Tuesday.
"I just received some additional questions from the jurors," Judge Sherry Stephens said in court as the questioning of Arias by her defense lawyers and the prosecutor finished. "It looks like we have probably a hundred questions."

Guilty as all fuck... but she'll have at least one of the jurors who will believe she's too pretty and sweet.
If they all agree, 100% mistrial on appeal as the judge has royally fucked the process.
In a sense I feel sorry for her, I have no doubt her pathological lies are linked to Borderline Personality Disorder with Narcissistic tendencies.

In three long and bizarre weeks on the stand, Arizona murder suspect Jodi Arias said little that would convince 12 jurors she was acting in self-defense when she shot and knifed her lover — but she may have saved her own life by testifying, legal experts said.

And the made for TV movie is on its way! Wonder if they'll get a B actress to play her or go with an unknown.
LOS ANGELES (TheWrap.com) - In the "what took so long" department, Lifetime is prepping a movie on the current trial of Jodi Arias, who's been charged with first-degree murder in the death of her ex-boyfriend, Travis Alexander.

As another week dawned in the marathon murder trial for Jodi Arias, Monday’s testimony focused on whether the controversial 32-year-old defendant suffered from post traumatic stress disorder after she butchered her former boyfriend, Travis Alexander, in June 2008.

PHOENIX – Testimony is set to resume in Jodi Arias' murder trial after her defense attorney worked to undo any damage done to the credibility of an expert witness who diagnosed the defendant with post-traumatic stress disorder and amnesia.
Psychologist Richard Samuels underwent a cross-examination by the prosecutor who called into question his techniques and testing procedures.
Samuels was set to return to the witness stand Thursday to respond to juror questions, something allowed in Arizona criminal trials.

PHOENIX — A domestic violence expert is testifying in the trial of a woman accused of murdering her former boyfriend in his suburban Phoenix home.
The expert resumes testimony Tuesday after detailing her expertise to jurors on Monday.
A psychologist who diagnosed Jodi Arias with post-traumatic stress disorder and amnesia concluded nearly six days of testimony on Monday. The prosecutor questioned his credibility and accused him of forming a relationship with Arias that biased his diagnosis.

This may have fucked up the prosecutions case really bad. It's one thing to discredit his creditability as a psychologist, but to start going down this path with a psychologist about him forming a relationship with her is NOT a smart idea... prob did not end well for him. The prosecution is winning this case for her (well atleast making sure she doesn't get the death penalty or a life sentence)
The defense knows it, that Dr was hammered during cross examination and although I find it unimaginable based on the horrific crimes here that she walks. This fool at least gave them outs. The Defense smells blood. Another Casey Anthony result coming?
Be interesting to see, but they are not drawing dead thanks to this yo yo of a Dr.
Based on the questions that they've asked it seems that the Jury isn't buying all of the bull that the defense has presented. There won't be a Casey Anthony result IMO. I'd be shocked if she got the death penalty though.
Agree with you.
To be fair, if someone was like I bet you Casey Anthony walks, I would of snapped up that bet. And lost obv. Even when acquitted it seems the vibe I get is sometimes, their done, no chance, O.J included. Yet incredibly they get the not guilty from a jury of their peers.
The interesting bit I heard on this and why I even mention a walk, is how hard supposedly the jurors grilled the Dr. Way above avg some of the legal experts were saying.
The defense of Jodi Arias, on trial for allegedly murdering her ex-boyfriend, has cost Arizona taxpayers more than $1.4 million.

That is a lot. It seems the Defense strategy is, just leave her up there long enough. Hopefully a a few jurors think, this little, sweet, soft spoken woman could never stab that big man 27 time and shoot him in the head.
In an odd way, it may be there best Defense, probably shooting for a hung jury.
