I recommend watching it with no volume. Way to many annoying cunts in the audience.
I don't blame people for wearing a PPA patch because most don't really follow what the PPA does, and assume they are a great organization acting on behalf of all that's good in poker.
What tilts me most about the PPA is their arrogance and refusal to take suggestions from outside parties (unless they already agree with those suggestions.)
Never has the PPA been criticized by someone and responded, "You know what? You're right. We should be doing this differently. We're going to change this from now on..."
Instead, anyone offering a dissenting opinion gets attacked by the PPA rep responding to them.
They also did poker no favors by being a puppet organization of Full Tilt and Pokerstars for many years.
Merson just on another level.
600k-1.2 mill blinds, seems to be a slow blind structure
Still lots of BB's for everyone especially in today's internet style raise sizing.
Merson is a stone cold killer.
Nothing will stop him.
BALLS GONNA BALL
If your playing in a poker tournament for $8.5 million dollars and some asshole is blowing his horn, how do you not go up to him and cold-cock him on his head?
:knife
Jesse Sylvia 95,300,000
Greg Merson 81,700,000
Jake Balsiger 21,200,000
At least 30 beers minimum and a few drinks later it's finally HU. Come on finish this shit before I pass out.
esfandiari could learn a lesson from merson. merson goes wait a minute to his crowd and walks over to sylvia instead of just jumping into his crowd of people.
Last hand
K5dd vs QJss aipf Merson had 2-1 chips
bricks
K5 held
Merson wins Main Event and POY
Maybe I'm just an asshole but I can't imagine calling in that spot.
ALL I KNOW IS I'M DRUNK AS SHIT AND THAT LAST HAND THEN THE WAY ESPN KICKED IT OFF THE AIR WAS ONE OF THE MOST HOF SEGMENTS I EVER SEEN.
DUDE WINS, THEN BOOM 20 SECONDS LATER HE IS HOLDING THE BRACELET AND THEN IT'S SPORTSCENTER YA'LL. SHIT WAS HOF LIKE "FINALLY WE CAN GET TO REAL PROGAMMING" IS WHAT THEM FOOLS ARE THINKING. I'M SO DRUNK BUT COULD SPOT IT TO THE POINT YOU COULD TELL ESPN COULDN'T WAIT FOR IT TO END THAT IT WAS SFHILARIOUS,
Not even an interview, lol
Not to mention how long they went live on this thing, no commercials unless quick 15 min breaks. no dinner break but when it ends, snap that bitch off clean!
Did any of the money from the wsop or the main go towards what kind of comes off like infomercial time on espn tonight? This format is terrible for poker, who else besides actual poker players are staying up all night to watch this shit?
His coach, Vanessa Selbst, couldn't believe it either. He obviously thought he was racing against a smallish pair & felt he had to get lucky to win it all so he might as well try to get lucky while he had the chips to put himself in the driver's seat. Thought Greg Merson was the better player so it 's probably not a terrible strategy but, I agree, I would have waited a little longer.
I think with a hand like that especially with the moment he's in you'd rather apply pressure by going all in with the QJ instead of calling and racing against an aggressor with position. You have an added aspect of the villian folding. Just my 2c, even if it's not the same moment I'm probably folding that hand
Phil Ivey may have won more money at this final table than Greg Merson.
Douchebags say "WHAT, WHAT"Quote:
Confetti poured from the ceiling as Merson's family and friends rushed the stage. They were stopped by security before they could go too far however, and had to cheer from the stands.
Greg Merson..."WHAT, WHAT"
Jesse Sylvia..."WHAT, WHAT"
Jake Balsiger..."I am only 15 years old"
:lol2
as an american how much money will he get after taxes?
around $5.5m?
So I have to admit, it's been a WHILE since I watched any poker on tv, and I was impressed! It felt really good watching the final 9 play down, I am really happy to have watched the action hand for hand, and LOVED Antonio as the commentator.
Druff, PLEASE GET ANTONIO ON THE NEXT PFA RADIO, if anything I want to congratulate him on the win, kicking ass as a comentator, and being a better player than his faggot brother pasha. Pasha was one of the crew who taught me how to play and I love talking shit to him, mostly because he's a huge fish, but also because his brother is hecka famous while pasha is the black sheep of the family.
Just got done watching the last 4 hours, couldn't stay up any longer last night. It was easily the best final 3 and overall play in general I have ever seen in a WSOP main, amazing play for hours on end. Merson just played better and is the overall more polished player. He made some great folds and calls throughout the night that left the commentators like W-T-F.
Antonio was great with his analysis, was a great night/morning for poker all around. Happy I watched it all.
So glad that rich faggot from "Martha's Vineyard" didn't win, his crowd was so fucking annoying but I guess being rich spoiled brats does that to you.
Glad I didn't stay up the whole night waiting for it and just watched rest this morning.
I do disagree about Antonio though - he tilted me a lot with his analysis, wish they woulda had more Olivier in the booth.
Greg killed it though - he made a ton of good folds in the right spots and was careful about using aggression.
Greg Merson . $8,527,982
Jesse Sylvia .. $5,295,149
Jake Balsiger . $3,799,073
I'm on hour 6 of the coverage on dvr and the fat chick constantly dancing behind Balsiger is tilting the fuck out of me. I also think from what I've seen so far that Sylvia has a near soul read on Merson when it comes to post flop play.
All I know is I remember very little of the last few hours of the this mostly from the alcohol but regardless I wish I could have them 12 hours of my life back.
I dont understand how Merson was staked. He won $1 million in the tourney before the main.
