Judoka Nicholas Delpopolo has been expelled from London 2012 after he failed a drugs test and admitted he had unwittingly eaten marijuana-laced food. Mansur Isaev of Russia won gold in the men's -73kg final by beating world champion Riki Nakaya of Japan. The bronze medals were won by Nyam-Ochir Sainjargal of Mongolia and Ugo Legrand of France. Delpopolo was disqualified by the International Olympic Committee after they discovered metabolites of cannabis in a urine sample taken on 30 July. He insisted he had not known the food contained the banned substance but that was not deemed a sufficient defence. Delpopolo was tested after he lost to Mongolian Nyam-Ochir Sainjargal in the repechage stage at the ExCel Arena.
The IOC's ruling dictated that his name should be struck from the judo records in London and the International Judo Federation should consider issuing any further punishments available in their rulebook. Delpopolo had waived his right to a hearing in the case and is due to return home to the United States on 7 August. According to the IOC, the Serbian-born judoka "indicated that he was embarrassed by this mistake". He has apologised to the United States Olympic Committee and his team-mates. More than 1,000 blood and urine tests have been carried out at the state-of-the-art testing facility built especially for the Games in Essex. The IOC confirmed that four other athletes had returned positive samples so far during the current Olympics.

German weightlifter drops 432-pound barbell on his head, walks away
Defending weightlifting gold medalist Matthias Steiner walked away from a terrifying incident Tuesday when he dropped a barbell weighing 432 pounds on his neck during the Olympic 105+ kg competition.
The German was attempting to snatch 196 kg when his knees and arms buckled, causing the massive weight to fall on top of his head. Steiner collapsed under the barbell and instantaneously flopped while its mass bent his neck and head. He was immediately tended to by medical officials and somehow got to his feet, saluted the crowd and walked off under his own power.
He didn't return to the competition. The Associated Press reports Steiner went to the hospital for precautionary X-rays.
Man, can she run.

first 2 weren't predictions idiot. they were the status at the time.
the only thing i said that was really a prediction was dead on. china took 6 out of 7 gold medals in diving and 9 out of the 21 total medals.
china also had the most number of gold medals in gymnastics with 4 and was tied for most medals in gymnastics with 8 with russia.
china also squeaked through with 3 medals in track and field. could have been more if it weren't for their biggest runner injuring himself.
You live in a Communitst Police State and you make a post like you did obviously cheering for your new homeland and those nearby.
Why else would would bother mentioning North Korea?
"China is destroying the US in gold medals. That is a taunt.
You lost big on Phelps and Lochte
Great prediction betting big on China in Diving and Gymnastics.....thank-you

All in all a fail post per ususal.
I chose the pic of the marching girls because of the smiles.....mmmmmmkay?
1. didn't lose anything because i didn't bet
2. china isn't "my new homeland"
3. north korea is worth mentioning apparently considering they were all over the news during this olympics
4. it isn't a police state as i established already
5. there is more communism in canada than there is china (see: canada's medical system)
6. haters gonna hate
anything else to add mr. 137 iq?
Worst seat in the house, next to these guys....

Urumqi Riots three years on - crackdown on Uighurs grows bolder
Three years on from riots and mass arrests in China’s Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region, Chinese authorities continue to silence those speaking out on abuses during and in the wake of the unrest, Amnesty International said.
New testimony reveals that dozens, if not hundreds, of the Uighur ethnic minority, many of whom were arrested in the wake of the riots, are still disappeared, and that the government continues to intimidate people - including families seeking information on their disappeared relatives - who reveal human rights abuses during and after the protests

cool story bro
most people who cause violent uprisings tend to be detained regardless of country.
Quote:
Recent incidents include the 2007 Xinjiang raid,[49] a thwarted 2008 suicide bombing attempt on a China Southern Airlines flight,[50] and the 2008 Xinjiang attack which resulted in the deaths of sixteen police officers four days before the Beijing Olympics.[51][52] Further incidents include the July 2009 Ürümqi riots, the September 2009 Xinjiang unrest, and the 2010 Aksu bombing that led to the trials of 376 people
read the post again tool.
it's not different from any other country with anti-terrorism laws.
i also find it pretty lolz that you're taking stories from the part of china that is in constant civil unrest and constantly killing each other, other people, and themselves.
why because you finally looked it up and realized you're talking about regions that china was pushed into having due to wars that include people that are displaced from their home country as a result but don't want to leave.
the part of the country you're quoting is part kazakhstan, part mongolia, part russia, part a million other places. it's a breeding pot of civil unrest and it's not because of the government it's because of the people there simply not getting along. the far west parts of china are a total mess, but to call china a police state simply because people can't help but try to blow themselves up in a far off autonomous region of china is like saying canada hurt the eskimos.
like i said tibet tibet tibet tibet tibet tibet
tianamen square tianamen square tianamen square
hey look at that! i'm still here and totally fine. you know why? because no one here gives a shit. the closest police officers to me don't even have guns. the closest gun to me right now is probably easily at least 50 miles away and it's a guard to some research center holding it.
i can go out as late as i want and do what i want, because there is no marshall law, there is no pandaemonium, and there is no police state.
you argued that of course people in police states have the best athletes! is that why my driver was, get this, ASKED to join a specialized track school and, get this, turned it down with no repercussions other than he never would get a shot at the olympics. the only people being forced to do anything is based on the culture (lol at you knowing anything about the culture of anything other than rehab) pressure for the children to do what they feel is best for their parents and their family, but you wouldn't know anything about not letting your parents down now would you?
