I will credit Musk with saying one thing that had an effect on my feelings about combustion engines vs electric as a consumer. He said something along the lines of “electric motors can respond within milliseconds and the combustion engine is slow to respond.”

I’m not talking acceleration. Initially, I swore I would never own an electric vehicle. The acceleration changed my mind. However, it’s the responsiveness to all conditions. The things that can be done to adjust to bad conditions or track conditions.
I’ll own an electric someday. Mercedes, Porsche or Acura. A brand that knows manufacturing not just design. Save my pennies. Instead of being a hater I’ll probably get a huge rush.
There are guys who collect and restore Studebaker Avantis. The car was brilliant and amazingly timeless. 50 years later it still almost looks current. Studebaker just couldn’t make money with it.
Studebaker sold Avanti and it then changed hands many times over the years. The beauty of the concept kept luring investors vs a viable and profitable product. Tesla will probably be sold to someone who knows manufacturing.
Musk was a huge character and will flame out in a spectacular mushroom cloud. The Rogan podcast may be looked back upon as an important dot on the timeline that records the collapse.
