This was fun. We should have more PFA town hall meetings.
is there a delete account option that im not seeing? I need it in my life
Druff, Garrett has asked are you gonna pay the 25.00 you owe him?
http://pokerfraudalert.com/freerollQuote:
You also must be in "good standing" here to qualify for the free money, meaning that your account cannot be banned or suspended.
Garrett finished 3rd on January 13.
He was suspended on January 5.
Therefore, he does not qualify.
:denied
While it's not much, I will instead send the $25 to Brandon, as he had to endure garrett's threats via IM while garrett was suspended.
Due to a loophole in the IM software, users who have been post suspended can still IM.Quote:

4BET: I didn't know he was suspended on the 3rd, Fair enough, He has been hammering me in IM'S
But I consider any full post restriction to be a suspension.
The freeroll is for users in good standing only, as well as radio listeners who didn't register.
How far into radio did garret call? Anyone know the rough timeframe?
Druff, for the life of me, I cannot understand how you cannot entrust anyone to help out modding. You cannot be here 24/7 and quite understandably you are not here 24/7. IMO this forum can't afford to have some shitstain take a dump all over the site and then hopefully you will see it sooner rather than later.
And I will say right now, of aaanyone on this forum, Garrett is bad news imo. That is my instinct anyway. I know we often toss around the words "nutcase" "psycho" "mental-case" (you get the idea) on this forum with regularity concerning a few people here, but Garrett is just...wow. That guy just gives me a bad feeling. I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if he fucks with the wrong person some day and gains a brand new black zip up "suit".
Brandon PLEASE do not leave.
we need Joshua Schaller dot info stat.
I hope 99.9% of you will be banned.
we need to have the jamaican shower posse pay garrett a visit
zod is GOD /thread
also shoutout to pokerpete and photowill
I think hollywood Dave is writing this stuff. Can't be real life
It's long. I will not post anything else on the subject.
I was sorry to read Drexel's post, of course. Drexel is a unique conversational talent. There are countless ways to be entertained these days. Endless endless media choices. I choose to make time to listen to him entertain as opposed to someone else. He is that good, imo.
But I will respect whatever decision he ultimately makes. I can accept the end of an era because I sympathize with and fully understand his issues. I will feel the loss. Having had Wagyu steak, however, I may not be able to go back.
The bullshit Drexel suffered from Garrett doesn't strike me as the sole reason. That Garrett existed for so long - that "we" condoned his participation here is the larger issue. The guy was obviously sick. No need to convince anyone why this is true. I have sent Druff maybe 5 PM's in 3 years. The ONLY time I ever complained about a member was Garrett. He'd get a timeout and reappear. Somehow Druff expected a different outcome. Wrong.
Garrett's complaint about being dox'd by Sonatine and others somehow was at the root of his latest fuckup. We would have been doing him a favor by banning him. To do what he never could have rationally done to stop the attacks - quit.
To let you know where I am coming from with the mental illness thing, I offer this. Marafioti. Okay, he's mentally ill. Didn't know that for sure. To listen to an hour of Druff messing with the guy wasn't entertaining to me. It crossed a line, somehow. I understand and admire SrslySirius's decision here. I was bothered that Druff made a point to call out the SrslySirius reference in the video. Druff didn't get it. I thought it was just gratuitous.
Look for a good, fair fight. Mentally ill, women, children... Off limits.
I think I know why Drexel never participated in piling on with Garrett. I never did either. Kid was fucked up. Kinda helpless. Yet, Druff, who is very keen on cyphering people out, did nothing.
Drexel talks about the brutal Wild West of yesteryear. Tell me, going after a man's GF, wife, child or dog was within you guys' range of acceptable play?
Why was Garrett even allowed to call in at the end of the last show? What kind of courtesy was this? This guy should have been already dead. I can't tell you how fucked this is. You guys have no code. It is consistent with how this shit is handled lately and I completely understand how disquieting this whole forum must feel to Drexel.
I just saw another post from Tyde going after Druff's GF and kid. C'mon Tyde. I knew Tyde was capable of ruthless old school trolling but I thought he had a personal code or line he wouldn't cross for any reason. I want to be a fan. I am trying real hard. But you caught me in a transitional period. I want to be the shepherd.
Old school forum days. When I first started here, Lewfather beat me and hazed me hard. Like sports hazing, he showed me my place. I was not old school and not a made guy. Never forgot it.
Having learned my lesson from Lew, I never involved myself with Tyde's sins and even Sonatine. I AM a Sonatine ball hugger. Even his trolling is on an advanced level. No one comes close. The clown GIF. Above the rim. I was never happy to see the Garrett suicide smock pic. But it was not my place to question. I was still bothered. Kid was fucked up.
Oddly, I understand Sonatine's decision lately too. Even less Waygu steak for us. He prolly regrets picking on the retarded defenseless kids. He knows there are more and it's too irresistable. Better to report himself to the authorities and disappear.
I don't know how important Drexel's objection to the show's format is to him. Drexel objects to fixed format of poker talk. He's bored by it. A guy in Vegas who plays poker. Imagine how we feel. Even BnP said its only okay in moderation.
Drexel wants more conversation. He wants the ball like a great wide receiver.
Around 6:30 of show (clearly in the free form zone) Drexel, "one hour on how to save money on tires". HOF
Closely following this funny line Drexel mentions Wagyu steak and Druff cuts him off with, "we're getting off topic".
PokerStars bans player, PokerStars Italy taxes, PokerStars stock. Drexel points out most of us can't play Stars and won't in our lifetime. Way he said it - and repeatedly -was funny as hell. But he's right. I still follow PStars, but I don't know why.
Poker was a great common excuse for people with all kinds of backgrounds and personalities to get together on a forum. No other subject would get such breadth. Start with poker and anything else goes. I have always wondered how sustainable the show or the forum would be as poker's novelty and interest wore down. This is the refrain in my head every time I read someone cry, "this place is dying".
Time to tweak the format, right Drex?
Sometimes I think poker is a comfortable crutch for Druff. There is a comfort to his ritual with his hour of topic agenda. Poker fixed subject list removes risk of failure. Good conversation is not a slam dunk. Kinda risky.
I want conversation and callers. If the Lithuanians and Canadians want poker throw them a bone.
Get to work on growing your assets.
Personally, I find the callers, and co-hosts are at a recent high water mark. Scalir, TMMLK, BnP, Daredevil (love this guy more & more), Drexel, Handicapme. Beautiful. I'll take more.
Druff mentioned the approval the audience has for the crank call. He thinks part of the appeal is that folks realize the potential for the unexpected outcome. This isn't just the case with "outbound" calls, Druff. When a call comes in the same "what's gonna happen" potential is there. Maybe you call this improv. Not scripted. No net. Drexel is a master at this. It's like watching an all star playing street basketball. No set plays.
I called out Druff for his dismissive reaction to callers. The sigh. The tolerance. I noticed a huge improvement here. I know Druff cares.
Who said this? "Drexel is so talented but doesn't care because it's so easy. Randy Moss" Think of the truly great late night talk show hosts. Carson, Jack Paar. Art of conversation. Not everyone has the gift.
This is an actual quote from last night's show. Druff said, "build it up and WASTE TIME toward the end." Really? Is that how you feel? Any wonder Drexel is feeling unsatisfied? Or me?
Drexel, "I talked with a pornstar for 2 hours about getting limb fucked. Doesn't matter the topic." Talk about smoothies. Drexel IS that good.
Handicapme said, "First part of show is filler (crutch)". On balance this is true, imo. Largely because there is no dialogue. Daredevil is growing here.
To bring this mess to close, I offer this. At least we are talking about this. The end of the show was a debate about some pretty important things. Lotta them deal breakers.
Having made these criticisms, I leave with a sincere compliment. Druff spoke for nine straight hours. Never a mumble or a stumble. No "uuums or aaaaaahs". So well spoken. So polished. Your strength - especially with Drexel and now Daredevil is conversation.
I want Waygu steak.
I have met Drexel and broken bread with him - he is good people. He is a made man on this site and everywhere else, like shaking hands with Sinatra.
btw
Who is Garret?
Stamos hit it on the head.
Holy Goaly
I have texted with Brandon a lot tonight about the various issues.
It was friendly, and we didn't argue at all.
I apologized for leaving garrett in a state where he could IM, stating (truthfully) that I didn't expect him to still go off while waiting on my final decision for his account. I was wrong on that, as garrett lacks the self-control to play it cool. Brandon, in turn, said that he understood, and wasn't mad about that.
Regarding radio, we each discussed some things we'd like to see change, and both of us agreed to do these things. These are mostly minor changes, but should make more of a harmonious experience in the future.
The most important change is that I will be front-loading the show with the poker stuff, and leaving the general and Vegas stuff to the second half. When the poker stuff is finished, I will call Brandon, and we will get going with the rest of the stuff which he will presumably find enjoyable to talk about.
Also, I will take care not to go into long monologues while Brandon is on the show, without including him in the discussion. I can understand his objection to that, because I don't like sitting silent for long periods of time, either.
Brandon will also be doing some of his own shows from here, like he used to.
This was a bit of a technical challenge, because once I start the streaming reruns, it renders the radio server unavailable for broadcast until I turn it off.
I built Brandon a tool tonight so he can turn the reruns on and off as needed.
I will give Chinamaniac and BeerAndPoker access to this also, if they want to do shows here at any point.
Brandon may do a show tonight, so look for that ON AIR light.
To Sanlmar, I read your entire statement.
Some of it isn't accurate, but I won't bother dissecting it.
I do want to address why we spent some time making fun of Marafioti's video. Truthfully, Marafioti isn't a sympathetic character. In 2012, for example, he got involved in a holecard-spying cheating ring, and reportedly only bailed out because the cheaters turned on him. He has aggressively come after countless people, much of which appeared to just be related to narcissism.
I also believe he's mentally ill. With him, it's a combination of mental illness and just not being a very good person. I don't think that his parents spoiling him growing up did him any favors. He should have been kept on a short financial leash.
SrslySirius was a nice guy to take the videos down. I won't argue with that. It should also be noted that Srsly's videos REALLY bothered Marafioti, whereas anything I do here isn't likely to affect him much (and in fact, he may never even hear about it).
But when I choose to do some good-natured lampooning of a video (and really, that's all it was), I consider the subject I'm lampooning. If it's an otherwise good guy who has descended into madness, I admit that's in bad taste. If it's someone who has acted in a very shady fashion over the years, I feel less sympathy. I don't want to hurt Marafioti in any way, but I also don't feel terrible joking about his crazy video.
And while it got lost in the 9-hour noise, I meant what I said at the beginning regarding upgrading Daredevil's status from just being a guest host. I feel like he has become an established part of the show, and provided that he wants to continue with it, "permanent guest host" may not be the correct status to give him.
Nice! Look forward to a show tonight or soon from Brandon.
I was going to ask you about that last night when I called in if the server password changed in the past year and if I would need to do anything to start it up now that the shows repeat. It would be nice if it was possible for the server to just auto load back up the repeats when someone isn't live but I would start it back up to the repeats if I do a show again which might happen during Superbowl week.
Now... regarding sonatine...
Ultimately, it is up to him what he wants to do. His account on PFA is now and has always been in good standing. If he wants to leave, so be it.
I am a bit perplexed regarding his feelings regarding this site.
sonatine has never been shy about trolling or aggravating those he didn't like here. Often the trolling was justified or semi-justified, but nonetheless he really let those people have it.
Take Mumbles, for example. Yes, he makes some stupid or trying-too-hard postings here, but it came to the point where sonatine was pretty much going after anything Mumbles posted -- even if Mumbles started a reasonable thread (one which would have been taken seriously had anyone else started it).
I tried to give sonatine space to be himself and stayed mostly hands-off with what he was doing. Much of the userbase liked him, and he contributed a lot of good content here, so I didn't want to micromanage him. I felt he had earned the right to step over the line every so often, as long as it wasn't too extreme.
But at the same time, he did contribute a lot to the contentious environment here. When you keep posting garrett's suicide smock pic, is it likely that garrett will make more or fewer shitposts in response?
Basically sonatine loved to stir the pot, but now he's apparently leaving because the pot got over-stirred, bubbled over, and he doesn't like the resulting mess. Again, it's his right to leave at any point, but I see that he had his hand in some of the unrest, even if not intentionally.
My relationship with sonatine has always been complicated.
We got along okay for awhile on NWP/DD, but eventually he became close with the Skatz guys, and he contributed his fair share of nasty treatment of me at DD towards the end. He knew this, because when I put up PFA, he wasn't sure if I was even going to allow him to have an account here.
When he did register, I had no intention of banning him, but I was a little uneasy, wondering if this was just going to be an extension of his DD trolling of me. Instead, he treated me and this site respectfully, so my opinion of him went up again.
When I got access to the Skatz admin forum and saw the shit talk about me there, I wasn't thrilled with some of the stuff sonatine said. However, his shit talk was relatively mild, and if anything, seemed to be manufactured just to assure these guys that he was still one of them. And he WAS still one of them, but he also seemed to honestly enjoy this site, and spent a lot of time here.
I did appreciate one exchange there, when one of the Skatz trolls made a remark about how horrible I must be in person, and sonatine responded by saying that I was completely normal and polite when we met. Someone thought he was kidding, but he reiterated that he was serious. sonatine never expected me to see that post, so I appreciated him piping up in my defense there. That didn't go unnoticed.
Overall, I will be sad to see sonatine go if he chooses to leave, and PFA will be worse overall without him. At the same time, you can't splash mud everywhere and then complain about the mess, so I hope he realizes that it needs to be a collaborative effort here if we are going to cut down on the shitposts and return to the days of quality threads.
Druff is it true you actually ask for 13 satchels of ketchup at drive thru burger joints?
Didn't hear the Sonatine glove thrown incident but I hear he exhausted himself and there was a lot of froth to deal with. I will pray to Don Knotts tonight in an effort to seal the deal❤️
Where did you hear about the 13 ketchups? Did I mention it on radio before?
I will sometimes ask for a specific # based upon how many I remembered needing on prior visits with the same order.
I don't like keeping ketchup at home because you're supposed to refrigerate it after opening, and I don't like cold ketchup on a warm burger.
