I'm not claiming LA is free of bad neighborhoods or crime. I was a teenager during the worst gang days of the '80s, which make today's issues there look mild. There were horrible areas I'd sometimes have to travel through at night to get back home, and I didn't feel good about it.
But gang violence or other street crime is different. That's a local/state issue. That's why I don't support Trump intervening in places like Chicago, even though Chicago is handling their crime problem very poorly.
Maybe the crime in and around the ICE facility doesn't bother you, because you have no reason to ever go there at night. The LA crime against ICE was similar for me. It was 50 miles away, and in an area I was unlikely to visit, so for me it was just a news story.
Still, you can't fault the feds for cracking down on this, and arresting those involved. That's my point.
