In mickey's defense, "libtard" is an older term which really does mean "leftist".

In fact, it's only in the past 10-15 years or so, when leftists started to gain real traction/power in the Democratic Party, when the distinction became important. Prior to that, "liberal" or "libtard" was a good enough descriptor, albeit a bit broad.

Today you have the old school liberals (usually those aged 45+), and you have the lefitsts, and now they're increasingly at odds. The liberals still resemble mainstream Democrats from 2005, whereas leftists are full of all the whack-job modern ideas about "equity", gender theory, systemic racism, late term abortion on demand, universal basic income, abolishing the police, not prosecuting misdemeanors, support of Islamic terror groups (seeing them as victims), etc.

I have come to have respect for liberals, even though we disagree a lot. That's because they've at least had the balls to reject the modern leftism which has largely swallowed up the party. Bill Maher is a good example of this.

I have little respect for leftists, though I still believe they should always have a platform to speak.

I admit I have a soft spot for garrett, as I do for other longtime regulars here who are sometimes a little bit disturbed, so to speak.

The funny thing with garrett is that he can go through periods of being completely normal, and then just flip out, like we see in the OP of this thread.

Some of you might remember the time garrett co-hosted a PFA Radio episode with me. You'd never guess it was the same guy as the poster on this forum. He sounded completely normal, was respectful throughout the show, and in fact was actually a pretty good co-host.

I do realize that some people like to be assholes to garrett just to rile him up. My advice to garrett is just to ignore all of that, make quality posts here, and not let any of the noise bother him. He actually does sometimes have good insight when it comes to casino/gambling matters, especially where it relates to AC and the east coast -- an area where I only have limited expertise myself.

But I could be recalling it incorrectly. Garrett never much interested me tbh. Before the truck, his posts were strange and mostly I can beat anyone in the world at poker posts.

And they were really after the poker boom when the forum really wasn't all that much about poker. And they were just crazy ravings really because he was claiming to be the best ever while not being a player of any note and working menial jobs. I can't recall any of his posts other than those and then the pic dropping and shut up garrett being used often.
