In the NYC they had drag queens reading kids books to children. I believe in live and let live for the most part but over the top in subjecting children to this.

Have you ever considered why there's no "construction worker story hour", "plumber story hour", or "electrical engineer story hour"? It's because these would be pointless. Men working in these professions have no need to gather together to read to little kids. This is left to people in educational or daycare type positions -- teachers, librarians, babysitters, etc.

Drag queens are choosing to read to kids because they're trying to hammer home to young children that gender means nothing and is very fluid. Woke parents take their kids to these things, because it makes them feel good about themselves.

While you can't really make this illegal if the drag queens are simply reading stories, you can state opposition to it, and question why it's being done in the first place.

Gender ideology should not be discussed with young children at all. When they get older, it should be taught that gender dysphoria is a form of mental illness, where a small percentage of people feel very uncomfortable with their birth gender, and thus change to the other one as adults if they still feel that way. It should also be taught that many kids and teens experience gender confusion, but that a high percentage of them grow out of it, and return to feeling perfectly happy with their birth gender. Finally, it should be taught to be respectful of those who did have to undergo gender transitions in order to feel at peace with themselves, and not to discriminate against them.

But that's not what the left wants. They want to teach that an 8-year-old boy who says he's a girl is definitely a girl. They want kids to learn that any deviation from gender norms probably means they're trans or at least "non-binary". Gender has become a choice rather than something you're born into. Being trans has quickly become something stylish and cool, rather than a last resort when you suffer from incurable gender dysphoria.

There is a huge difference between being respectful to adult trans people versus being okay with indoctrinating kids. I'm for the former but not the latter.

I have got to believe that showing them hardcore pornography would conflict with a great many other laws that are already on the books. That's a pretty key difference.

And, again, I'm not defending drag queen story hour. Especially not this one as it seems that sexual apparatus' were part of the performance, at least, if the Petition can be believed, but I don't know whether or not I believe the Petition. I'd like to see a video, tbh, before accepting the specific allegations in the Petition as true.

If it's something where the performer is literally just sitting there and reading a book, then take your kids or don't take them. I see no need to take one's kids to such a thing, but if people are going to be allowed to make their kids go to church, then they should be allowed to take their kids to watch a dude in a dress read a book.

Umm...I don't know what your Elementary school was doing, but we totally had a day wherein parents would stop in and talk about their jobs; they'd also read books in the process. Did you guys seriously not have that?

I agree that gender ideology, and really anything sexual, shouldn't be discussed with young children at all. I'm not sure at what age you have those discussions and think it varies based on both the parents and children in question. Of course, it seems like it would be difficult to set an age and say, "NEVER before x age." Ten, maybe? Never before ten? I don't know.

Everything else from that second to last paragraph seems quite reasonable.

As far as the last part, they want something to be true simply because they say/believe that it's true. Religion is no different, in that regard. It seems a strangely common tendency for people to want the truth to be whatever they say it is.

This is pretty much it. Showing kids hardcore pornography is illegal. It’s not even clear what drag queen story time is. How the hell would you outlaw it? No man if allowed to read a book to children is wearing women’s clothes?

There are already tons of laws that exist to protect children and they are fairly flexible. Child protective services has some of the strongest powers out of any agency.

If drag queen story time is actually being done in a way that is overtly sexual with children it shouldn’t be difficult to video tape it and have those arrested. The following statement is the ideal. I recognize in reality it won’t be so easy. But my previous point stands it’s very damn easy to get child protective services to follow up.
