Cubs will make the playoffs. The crappy two wildcard format guarantees that any somewhat-competent team will make the playoffs, since it ensures that 1/3 of baseball sees the postseason. This is a good idea for revenue but very unfair to the better teams, given the high variance in baseball games.
Cubs are looking very human, though. If Arrieta doesn't return to what he was, then this team will end up an utter disappointment.
Dodgers would be pretty much a lock to make the playoffs as least as a wildcard, but the absence of Kershaw (might be the whole season!) might be a killer. It will definitely impact them in the playoffs. Interesting that both Kershaw and Greinke went down around the same time, after both being pretty healthy for most of their careers.
