90% deaths are in fat-ass countries. The number of dead that are fat-asses is smaller. Last study that i remember came from UK, a fat-ass country, where obesity increased chance of death about 50%.

Fat people should be required to step on a scale before being permitted to buy shit like ice cream and fast food. They have totally fucked up the health care system.
split is half right.
Obesity greatly increases the chance of death, especially among those under 65.
However, the biggest factor contributing to COVID death is age, and it's not even close. Way better to catch COVID as an obese 50-year-old than as a fit 80-year-old. Neither is good, but the obese 50-year-old has a much better chance of survival.
Also, there isn't data backing that people who are overweight or moderately obese are in much additional danger. It seems that BMI of 40+ is the range where it starts to really increase your bad outcome rate with COVID. Laughably, Washington DC gave priority to everyone whose BMI is over 25, which means that a 6-foot man who weighs 185 would be considered "obese" by DC standards, and would get priority. This idiocy was part of DC's attempt to give racial preference, knowing that black people have higher rates of being overweight than other races.
My BMI is around 28, by the way. There isn't any evidence that a BMI of 28 is a problem, COVID-wise.
My personal risk factors are age (49 -- moderate risk), type A blood, hypertension (though mine isn't that bad), and being tall. The height thing doesn't have worse outcomes once you catch COVID, but it does increase your risk of catching COVID indoors. The exact reason for this isn't understood, but it's believed to possibly be related to heat/AC systems pushing air around the room, where you are "above" others in the room, and there's a more clear path for the virus to be pushed into your nasal cavity, whereas others will be somewhat blocked by others' heads.
The recommendations for disease prevention is 10 servings of fruit and vegetables a day. Most Americans don’t get any. 10 is nothing. It’s easy when you cut out all the crap. That shit is killing you. Join a gym. Don’t be a statistic.
Looks like Finland is worse than average as far as obesity in Europe, but not nearly as bad as the UK:
https://www.euro.who.int/__data/asse...ry-Profile.pdf
Comparable.
Finland is at 10/100k deaths, 58% overweight and 22% obesity.
Norway is at 8/100k deaths, 58% overweight and 23% obesity.
US is at 105/100k deaths, 67% overweight and 36% obesity.
UK is at 110/100k deaths, 63% overweight and 27% obesity.
I was mostly just explaining what the study found and it wasn't 90% dead were obese. The weight numbers used in the study were from the slim years of 2016. The trajectory of weight gain since the 50s has been pretty steep so who knows what numbers were for 2020.
Also lets all do what Sweden did. 85/100k dead, 56% and 21%. All Nordic countries are so small that they don't move that 90% number on their own to any direction. I think the biggest correlation was that most or all over 60% overweight countries were in 100/100k deaths region and it might have more to do with how overweight correlates with obesity.
2008 and slightly exaggerating about half those countries are former Soviet Union. Places like Tajikistan and Uzbekistan that are in Central Asia.
edit: It's an old WHO classification where any country in Commonwealth of Independent States (part of USSR) was grandfathered as part of Europe. Some of those are closer to Mongolia than Germany.
Me and Mama got our 1st vax yesterday (Physer). I woke up with massive headache and sore arm. She only had sore arm. We both were extremely tired today. Will report how 2nd one goes.
Would you attribute American fast food or whatever fast food is available in Finland to raise in obesity? I find myself constantly having to reevaluate what I think of as fat ethnic populations once they are exposed to fast food.
Hispanics are the fattest large population here in US. I read a stat last week where 1/3 nurse deaths in US were Filipinos, despite only representing 4% of all nurses. It put me down the rabbit hole of why.
It was a double whammy. They live in large metropolitan areas where virus hit hardest, but seem to now be the fattest demo and it’s went from like 4% overweight to 60 in 30 years. I used to think of adult Filipino women as smallish, but not overly fat. Clearly they’re obese now. Much like Hispanics, most don’t have the height to fade any real weight gain.
Strikes me fast food in every country is worse than cancer and Covid and all put together. I can eat almost anything and maintain weight at home.
If I eat fast food more than just once in a blue moon when I have no other options or drink soft drinks, those two things are the only thing in the world that make me gain weight in any real sense. I can eat almost anything I made at home and with working out, be fine. Add those 2, I’ll jump.
Can’t think of any other reason the world is getting so fat .
FUCK TEXAS
So apparently this is some more of that, Orange County California rich kid logic. LOL you must have to of got hit in the head harder then me. Government or any Authority shouldn't ever be telling people what they can and cant eat, or buy.
Seagull you do crack me up. And with you, I do actually think its just pure naivety. You really are this grew up in a box, think you know it all type. Its great, and you seem to think we all live in boxs too right haha.... You did actually grown up in a 'Bubble' of sorts maybe. And where you just seem to think, everyone with a College Degree is smarter, or like here, you think being fat is just a choice for most. No you fucking retard have you ever understood what Genetics are.
Anyway, haha more Seagull logic
More sedentary life style and access to low nutrient high fat/sugar content food. Genetics play a part in that i don't have huge appetite, i can barely gain weight and it's relatively effortless for me to lose it. Might be different in 10 years. I'm in awful shape regarding strength/stamina, just not weight gain.
Why some of the migrant groups have been hit harder could have something to do with living conditions, working conditions and how easily they can take a sick leave. Fear of losing your job and financial security. Latinos kinda got hit with those things. Migrant status and supporting extended family outside US.
Dunno if Pinoy are part of Asia with a wide concept of family, where they are expected to support less well off members.
Burbank, CA high school suspended its baseball team because 8 members took a picture together outdoors without a mask.
LOL Team Feelings

All of this is such performative bullshit.
MASK UP!!!!!
The way we work is definitely a large part of it. Used to be many in manual labor. It’s not that most of Europe is fat compared to the US, but much fatter than US in 1950. You can draw a straight line in Mexico and the introduction of fast food, and they still work manual labor for the most part. They always ate bad imo. I’d go to Mexico and think how are these people skinny? Not now. Now they’re obese, worse if they’re here, but it’s just strange to see half of Europe at 50% overweight. I don’t think that was the case even 20 years ago.
My kid wrestles 5 times a week. He is 11. No one wears masks (coaches, kids, parents). Lots of breathing, sweating on each other as they roll around on a sweaty mat.
It is a glorious super spreader event and it is beautiful to see children acting normal in the covid psy-op false-reality everyone has fallen for.
No dead kids, parents, grandparents or coaches but I am sure Team Lockdown is rooting like hell for us all to fall over and die. The problem is this has been going on since ** MARCH OF 2020 **.
0 fatalities.

real virus, fake pandemic.
Obesity has tripled world wide since 75. Most places with huge bumps in economic growth it's even steeper. China tripled their numbers in the last decade. Mexico is obv an example. You could make a case for traditionally wealthy areas having adapted to it better. Not well but better. In the wealthy countries the relatively poorest economic groups lead the rise in obesity.
Let's call it a kid in a candy store effect.
You know how much exercise it takes to burn calories.
The sedentary lifestyle is the biggest factor with groups that have been fairly stable economically. Less manual labour, drive everywhere, no tinkering around the house, less outdoor activities like fishing/hunting/camping, less sports and that type of stuff. Mixed with a smallish change in calorie intake and quality.
Groups that have seen economic growth or increased buying power have shifted more with everything.
Food also functions like drugs. The body adapts to ever increasing food amounts. It rewards you for eating and punishes you if you don't eat enough by the current standard. It expects the amount of calories/nutrients it has come accustomed to. Food is a really cheap mood enhancer. Endorphins from physical activity is even cheaper and has some long lasting effects. It's just a lot harder than eating, watching tv or gambling.
There's also the thingie where very small early adjustments set a trajectory for huge changes later down the road.
Being 10 years older you've seen even bigger changes how kids grow up from your days to now.
When i was a kid everyone spent 80% of their free time outdoors. My parents and grandparents were always doing something. Parents did everything in their power to drive kids out of the house likely for their own sanity. Safety wasn't a huge concern. In reality i wouldn't be too surprised if the world wasn't more dangerous then than it's now.
Our general guidance from 5-15 years old was don't take candy from strangers and don't do anything too stupid. Oh and you're better off the bigger the pack you move in, but stay away from few of the really bad kids.
You got candy once a week or if you we're smart enough to hustle from schemes that took half a day.
To this day i've never been compelled to have a second dinner.
Woke whitey's demand that blacks get the vaccine first. Half of blacks won't take it because they think it's a plot by whitey to kill them. You can't make this shit up.
One of my old black female patients got a big ole smile on her face recently. I asked her if she was going to get the corona vaccine and she became angry saying no. I told her I agree with her decision completely. That’s how you solve race relations. You find common ground.
When will Druff realized he's been played and he wasted a year of good life being a hypochondriac? Also his family's life as well
Sad!
Finally some sense out of Texas. Hopefully all of these cardrooms won't follow the incompetent Abbott's lead.
Covid has apparently been beaten in Texas but only amongst American citizens. Still have to worry about those pesky illegals bringing "Mexican" Covid into the state. Just like we have to depreciate clean energy because wind and solar was the cause of the power crisis. On a side not I wonder when Druff will be back at a live casino? Will he go back after being vaccinated? Will he always wear a mask at a cardroom through 2022?
Here you go you "libertarian" Dwai cucks. Laughable that we wouldnt see some MAGAtards harass private businesses that would want to keep a mask mandate.

This is the real “Bart” Hanson? You are a fat nerd. I’ve seen you being such an insufferable dork for so long now. A few months back I heard you call the radio program and was taken aback at how weak and soft you came off. Didn’t you say something like you had a responsibility to call you COVID “deniers” and shame them? Would love to see you try that off Twitter to a real mans face, bitch tits. Bart bitch tits Hansen
Bart BT, nobody is acting tough. I am saying you claimed you want to “hold people accountable”, but your only means of doing that are using your “poker Twitter” platform to rile up a mob to attack people. Point being, you are physically incapable of doing so yourself, so like a weak, effeminate and cowardly worm, you seek to “punish” others for believing differently than you by getting a mob of your fan geeks against them. It’s pathetic but that’s reality pal! Go grind some more poker bitch tits
WHOA! Sonatine may have been correct in pointing the finger at a Chinese lab in Wiluhan for this COVID virus, at least according to this report today in Politico:
In 2018, Diplomats Warned of Risky Coronavirus Experiments in a Wuhan Lab. No One Listened.
After seeing a risky lab, they wrote a cable warning to Washington. But it was ignored.
https://www.politico.com/news/magazi...excerpt-474322
So, Druff, you also would be vindicated for hyping that notion given the reporting in this article. One of the researchers at that lab apparently got COVID-like symptoms in 2019, a full year before the outbreak.
But if you are to believe this story, you’d also probably have to accept that Team Trump totally fucking ignored this warning.
So, yeah. Another example of Trump fucking up dealing with a serious pendemic risk. Of course, you’ll probably find some way to explain it away as “not that consequential”, or “nothing could have been done about it”, or “Hillary would have pretty much done the same thing”. Amirite?
This wasn't just Tine. I'm sure I've said this on here before, but anyone with a functioning brain that wasn't just plugged in to the left-right/trump-antitrump nonsense used Occams Razor to deduce that there are high fucking odds that the lab played a major part in Covid. Plenty of smart scientists who are not afraid to speak freely/had no skin in the game at that lab have said so as well.
The idiot far-leftist "Trust the science omg!!!1!" types forgot that a fucking lot of scientists in this scenario were in CYA mode. Not any different than the cops (that those people hate and can "see through their bullshit") go into CYA mode when one of them kill someone in the streets.
Also Mumbles, serious question regarding your TDS, what should Trump have done with this information? Invade China?
I will go back to card rooms once I am vaccinated. However, if required to wear a mask the entire time, I may not do it, or I may not stay long. I definitely won't be playing tournaments if masks are required. Just too uncomfortable to be stuck there all those hours.
I will say that businesses mandating masking are mainly acting in a performative manner, similar to all the cleaning and sanitizing. If you leave your indoor cardroom open, that is a high COVID danger, regardless of masking or no masking.
So the whole thing is bullshit. There's no such thing as a "responsible" opening of indoor poker, just because everyone's masking. If you are thumbing your nose at COVID risk, be honest about it. The biggest lie of 2020/2021 is that cloth masks are the difference between getting COVID and not getting COVID. That's the media's doing. Trump didn't want to tell his cultish followers to wear masks because they'd get mad at him, so he kept quiet about it, and the left wing media seized upon it. So the narrative (incorrectly) became that masking equals safety, and no masking equals recklessness. That's just not true.
That soyboy in New York who bitched at Trader Joe's got one thing correct -- it's mostly spreading in aerosol form, and the CDC has been slow to admit this. Cloth masks do very little to stop that. They stop droplets, but not aerosol spread.
Some sort of poker may happen during August 2021 but it will be a fucking disaster.
Security will outnumber poker players.
Security will constantly fuck with people to put on masks which you must wear 24/7.
Most guys who use the restrooms do not wash their fucking hands.
I think you will be better off not going anywhere near the Rio in Las Vegas this year.
https://d3ltpfxjzvda6e.cloudfront.ne...ino_poker.jpeg
Lets go one step further here, Mumbles, and speculate if Trump had done the easiest thing. That would be simply making public these reports they received. How would people of your ilk have responded at the time? "Oh fucking racist Trump trying to stir up anti-Chinese sentiments" is probably exactly what you would have said.
You can't have your cake and eat it too.
