Stand up guy. Sorry you got burned in all of this. I hope you decide to do the Druff/Drexel show for shits and giggles again.

He is likely a sociopath. I am sure it is hard to find a job in his shoes that he actually wants to show up at, but... and I would have to figure out who pushed for the Q22 thing. It is possible he isn't _that_ bad of a guy but I dont' think Druff even knows what a sociopath is. I'd bet Jasep would be diagnosed with sociopathy. It has a high comorbidity with gambling addiction. It doesn't mean they are evil, they just don't care. There isn't a social bond. THe difference between Jasep and PeterDC is one of ability. They see people for what they are and dont' get caught up in anything. It is all string pulling. People are puppets, emotions are something you manipulate. THey are often quite charming because of this.
I mgiht be wrong. I was kicking the guy when he was down but it is hard to feel any sympathy for guys who roll charity. Stick around live poker and you'll meet lots of sociopaths. Now I agree PeterDC got off on it, but that doesn't mean the distinction between the two is one of being a sociopath or not. Not if you actually know what the word means.
This whole thing was lol the past few days with the septic tank meme etc, but I do feel a little sympathy for the guy though. All bullshit aside, prison must suck and there are people who do stuff far more damaging than this 5k or whatever it turns out he got people for. Having possible prison looming over your head must suck.
I'm only on page 50 so if somebody asked this then I apologize.
If everybody knew they guy was flat broke then why didn't you call him out on it. I'm talking about the well respected forum members not the trolls. Everyone else was to believe the guy, while not the richest dude in the world, still made enough to pay his child support, mortgage (he said he had a six figure mortgage) and other living expenses. Nobody would have invested in a completely broke fuck if they knew this.
He basically admitted he lost all of his net worth on radio, he made no secret his finances were depleted, I believe he even posted that in page 1 of this thread and said this was his last shot or something like that
The first page in this thread was cleverly written up to suck people in IMO
Yeah he wasn't hiding he was flat broke imo
Was pretty obvious from 1st page of thread
And right after I read that I wrote this...
This had disaster written all over it from jump street.Quote:
Even if I was a winning player, poker would be my LAST option right now if I was looking for something the build a life around.
This will probably make a great documentary, but a terrible real life story in the end.
In before CMoney posts bricks of Gold and blood diamonds with actual African blood on them to make all you wannabe ballers feel small with your paper bills.
I'll give my reason:
I don't like calling people out on hunches. If somebody came to me and said Jasep owes me $10k I would have alerted the right people so the BAP wouldn't go. What i had was a hunch he was broke/indebted; couple that with my "bad" read that he was a straight-shooter, and you can see why I stayed quiet. NOW, if someone I didn't really know contacted me and said what do you think of this BAP I would say what I said initially, "I've done several transactions with Jasep and never had an issue.". My unwillingness to expound on this should be their warning. If somebody I knew and trusted came to me I would have voiced my concerns to them privately, with the caveat that I have no proof of any of this
Jasep's got 99 problems, but a bitch ain't one.

jasep tried that... see below

COMPLIMENTS OF THE SEASON
Good Day!
I am the manager of bills and exchange at the foriegn remittance department of the (ABN AMRO BANK AMSTERDAM ). I am writting you this letter to ask for your support and co-operation to carry out this transaction. We discovered some abandoned sum $15,500,000(FIFTEEN MILLION, FIVE HUNDRED THOUSAND U.S DOLLAR ) in an account that belongs to one of our foriegn customer who died along-side his entire family in march this year in a terrorist train bomb blast in Spain some few months ago.Since this development,we have advertised for his next of kin or any close relation to come forward to claim this money, but nobody came yet to apply for the claim.
To this effect,i and other official in my department have decided to look for a trusted foriegn partner who can stand in as the next of kin of the deceased as we cannot do it only ourselves and claim this money. We need a foreign partner to apply for the claim on our behalf because of the fact that the customer was a foreign and we don't want this money to go into the treasury as unclaimed fund.
Every document to effect this process will emanate from my table and i will perfect every document to be in accordance with the banking law and guideline,so you have nothing to worry about and we have agreed that 30% of this money will be for you, while 10%will be for any expenses incured on both sides wihile 60% will be for my colleagues and me. If you are willing to help us,please indicate by replying this letter and putting in your name, private telephone number, fax and permanent residential address via my private email address below.I awaits your immediate response to enable us start this transaction as soon as i recieved your reply,i will send you a text application form for immediate APPLICATIION OF CLAIM.
Please contact me even if you are not intrested in my proposal to you to enable us scout for another partner in the event of non-interest on your part. Thanks for your co-operation
Best poster by far in the entire country of Sweden :)
He approached JoeU (whose daughter is stricken with 22q) about doing the charity podcast. JoeU asked him why he was doing something so big, that involved so much time and effort for a cause he had just learned about. Jaseps response was that he hoped if he ever need help (referring to a medical problem from the context JoeU indicated) he had hoped others would do the same.
The above was told to me on the phone by JoeU himself, not by a 3rd party source.
He made it clear in my eyes he was broke. Now broke to me is a relative term. It was never explained, nor was I privy to whether he was completely busted broke or broke that he had no poker bankroll..i.e. meaning not enough for a couple of buyins.
I said on radio last night that to me the term broke is different than others may view it. I know when I have been down in my life to 5k-10k in cash I consider that close to broke. I know other poker players who consider themselves in bad financial shape and have used the term close to broke with 15-25k to their names. Of course, this is not considering the different monthly nut everyone has.
The best way to put this, before the BAP started and other developments came out, if someone would have asked me what his liquid cash at hand was, I would have guessed 2k-3k. I may just be naive. Steve O indicated in a earlier post that he had enough money to live, pay bills, eat, child support etc for a month.
Interesting tidbit though. I am sorry I had not mentioned this. Kevin relayed to me on the phone 3 days ago that Johnny had been living with his mother. There was no mortgage or properties.
Johnny never mentioned to myself or Mark he had been living with his Mom for an extended period of time (last year, years?). In fact, he inferred otherwise to us and on radio as well.
Not sure if this was done due to feeling embarrassment.
So unless there was some agreement with his mother, I will assume he was living there rent free and his biggest and only nut would be child support (and this is something he has talked about openly)
You are yesterday's news pal.
How on earth can you make an argument that the guy isn't a sociopath? He has been lying for years. To some of the people he is closest too. Opportunistic scammers don't lie and steal from lifelong friends. He is STILL lying. Do you honestly think that he didn't know he was gonna scam that charity from the second he got involved? *edit* after seeing Drexel's above post, it looks like it was his idea. ROFL. He's not a sociopathic scammer? Yeah, ok.
Jasep at :10 when he heard the 22q thing was happening.

He is scamming new people to pay back the people he just scammed. An opportunistic scammer doesn't send back a mistake deposit to their bank account. An opportunistic scammer scams when things fall in their laps. Someone could make an argument that plol is an opportunistic scammer. A sociopathic scammer lies to his friends, family, and anyone who could expose him. A sociopathic scammer tells his business partner he is meeting a rep from a charity to give him a check. It takes a special type of piece of shit to do that. Anyone who thinks it isn't true is just as clueless now as they were on page 3 of this thread. I bet some guys on death row would be disgusted by that. It's also not like he was scamming to put food on the table. He lost $600 to Brandon in pai gow poker ffs. By his own admission, he was playing 20/40, and "hail mary" VP sessions. Not the actions of an opportunistic scammer trying to pay the bills.
All you faggots blaming Druff and Brandon for getting fucked obviously have the mentality of a 7 year old. You are grown ass men. It isn't anyone else's responsibility to do your homework for you. Even when it was blatantly obvious the guy was a scammer, you dipshits were still sucking him off. You have to be a special kind of dumbfuck yourself to send a stranger money on the internet to begin with. WTF were you thinking? Especially the guys who have been scammed multiple times. I guess in the game of life, you were just born suckers. Jasep is NOT a good guy who got caught up in a temporary scam. He has made it his way of life, and is a piece of shit to the highest degree. This is only the stuff we know about. You think these are his first scams?
You run cold cold cold then boom you melt a polar icecap.
Yep. Sociopaths just don't give much of a shit if they lose. It isn't that they are really evil. They may or may not be. I know a guy who is very well regarded in a field, flown internationally etc to perform. After knowing him for a few yeas via a poker game, I would guess they'd be considered a sociopath if a competent psychologist talked to him and he cared to be honest. The guy has never fucked over anyone directly that I know, but I've seen him oeprate and he'll tell us stuff that I doubt he'd tell most of his coworkers. I watched a documentary on this where they found a genetic basis for it and found out one of the producers had it. Then he started examining his life and he agreed he just didn't care as much as other people. He took care of his family etc, but he was a capable person and saw no reason to become a scammer. These people just don't ever get in trouble because they're smart enough and don't need acts of desperation. The fact that Jasep approached someone for 22Q shows a high level of premeditation that goes far beyond opportunistic. Is he a sociopath? I can't say, but I sure wouldn't say he isn't.
What bugs me is Druff giving us a clinical diagnosis of the guy. I wouldn't even brought out this sociopath word but I see peopel misusing it and people that are looked up to as being smart.
It seems strange to me that he would be able to collect this charity money in such a small community and then stiff the charity people 1/2 of it. I almost want to think there is more to the story or what we are guessing happened didn't. Was the amount never announced publically in a manner the charity board members would hear ? so many fails all around.
Is there an arCHive somewhere of the show that ran the other night about this?

Show 16. Download was slow for 388 megs, but it goes for 5hrs 32 minutes it seems. Winamp is providing a different file length time than actual play time it seems.
i always thought it was a little weird that jessop just showed up from nowhere one day.
i was even more surprised how quickly people accepted and trusted him.
Letting this guy off as a "good guy who got in over his head" is ridiculous. The sheer volume of lies and scams that are known (how many more may be unknown?) show that this is a very sick individual.
I sure hope that the people involved with that charity follow up and don't let that die. He needs to be in jail if he took that money.
lol I actually thought Jasep wasn't a scammer.

It doesn't take much to get people on here to send you money. It's also funny how he mentions his daughter and family frequently to try and garner sympathy. That is ice cold. Anyone with kids should understand that. What's even funnier is how people would lap it up and respond with "go spend time with your daughter, this is just noise" or "your family comes first." He doesn't give a shit about his family. If he did, he wouldn't have continually used them as pawns to scam people out of money. He's already proven he is willing to fuck over a gf by stealing their identity. The piece of shit would probably steal his daughters identity if he thought he could make a buck off of it.
What I want to see is if the guys who are owed money would accept it knowing that it is coming from some other poor fool who got suckered. Because if they think he still has even one nickel of that original $5000, they are just simply beyond help. If you take that money, you're basically just passing the scam along, and not really doing anything to put an end to it.
and he was banging 4s and 5s, kids got game?
btw looking at sep reminds me of this

Sometimes I wish I paid attention to, and absorbed more of what I read. Just remembered he posted an AMA thread on PFO, the whole thing is a giant red flag:

In 2008 I went stone broke after running terrible for about 7 months, I still had money to sustain my household through the end of the year but my poker bankroll was gone, worse yet, I had a baby on the way,due in December. I borrowed $2500.00 from a close friend of mine, and made the decision that if I wasn't able to make it happen with that then I was going to quit poker and find a real job.
I was really feeling pressured all the way around. I didn't want my daughter being born while I was downswinging and ever have to suffer, I had a baby momma who was (and to some degree still is) just horrible to deal with and added a constant layer of pressure and doubt on me. I wanted to make sure I had all the things I would need upon my daughters arrival, moreso than just furniture, clothes and food, but her mother drove a shitty, unsafe care, and wanted I to update our entire home with nice things... I don't even know what I was thinking, but the thought of being a parent for the first time when you work in a very, very selfish profession takes a brutal toll on you.
Anyway, the day I got the $2500 I went to Foxwoods and players the $180 nightly... It was a Monday I think, I won that tournament for around 5 grand, it was a nice payday and took a little pressure off of me, but it wasn't enough to make me feel at ease... The next night I played the $230 nightly and funny enough, I won that tournament for $7500... Now we are getting something going, I paid back the $2500 I borrowed just 2 days later and I had a 10k Bankroll all inside of the same week of going broke.... The VERY next night I played the $180 nightly and WON that tournament for 6k... 3 tournaments in a row, three win.... 16k bankroll.... things were looking up...
The next morning I went to a subaru dealership with my daughters mother... We decided that we would buy a brand new Forrester (one of the safest cars on the planet). In order to get the payment low enough so that it would be very easily afforded with her job I had to put 8.5k down on it. We bought the car and I was left with $7500...
I got to Foxwoods that night and I have no idea what came over me or what I was thinking, but I was in a semi panic over fire off that much of my bankroll in one day and I had made a horrible decision.
I sat in a 10/25 no cap buy in NLHE game with the full 7500...
3 hands in I got coolered really bad and was broke again... I went in to the bathroom stall and dry heaved for about an hour... than I went home, saw that car parked in my driveway and had to go inside and pretend everything was fine... I didn't play poker again until after my daughter was born....
Second story coming......

When I first moved to this state I went and set up a bank account with Citizens Bank. I owned 3 restaurants at the time and was drawing money from them monthly and I wanted the money deposited same day instead of having to wait, so I chose the bank that those checks were drawn on.
I opened the account with $10.00 and was expecting to get a few checks in about 4 weeks that should have been around 10k. After moving expenses and buying a new car I wasn't stacked up very well financially, but that was okay I just figured I would live light until I got my checks, no biggie....
About 5 days after opening the account I got a letter from the bank that looked like an overdraft letter, I was like what the fuck? I didn't even use the bank account.
I opened the letter and it was a letter confirming a wire transfer for 50k in to my account....
I didn't know what to do, it was pretty sick, I went to the bank and checked my balance with my temp atm card and sure enough $50,010.00....
The next day was a Friday and I was in a weird spot, I had never had anything like this happen to me before... I called a lawyer friend of mine and he told me to do nothing, ignore the money, don't tell them about it, don't touch it....
In my head I knew that if I lost all of that money I would be in serious trouble, I also knew I had 10k coming in soon so I could replace that much of the money if shit went wrong.
I also knew that because it was Friday nothing could even be done until Monday at the earliest... I called Foxwoods and booked a room.
I went to the bank and withdrew 5k, I then went to the other branch down the street and withdrew another 5k...
I went to Foxwoods and long story short... I won 15k, mostly playing 10/25 NLHE and some 500 a hand paigow.
Monday morning I went to the bank, made a 10k deposit and asked to speak to the branch manager. I told him about the wire, they had no idea what to do, they couldn't figure out where it came from or anything....
They gave me some pens and a gym bag with speakers in it as appreciation...
The money stayed in my account for a while before they retrieved it... but I didn't touch it at all after that
