Use of Chinese-made drones is problematic due to a ban on their use by any US government authority, and in light of China's rapprochement with Iran and the assistance it provides to Russia in its war in Ukraine. According to the US government, DJI is known for the "dual use" of its products. On the one hand, it markets civilian products to every buyer, and on the other hand, it develops products for use by security organizations in China, and because of this, Western armies restrict the use of its products.
The US Department of Defense added DJI to its blacklist of Chinese exporters back in 2022 and prohibited all security organizations in the country from using it, concerned that the drones transmit information to the Chinese government as well as fearing information security breaches that could lead to a third party hijacking them and using them for a cyberattack. The US Department of the Treasury has also issued a ban on US investors making financial investments in the Chinese company.
Although Autel has not been blacklisted as it is a semi-US company, but it is to be investigated by the US Congress due to what members of Congress call a threat to US national security through the transfer of sensitive information to external parties. The members of Congress also claim that Autel supports the Russian invasion of Ukraine and helps China suppress the Uyghur minority, as well as other minorities in China, and are demanding the company be added to the Department of Commerce, Department of Defense and Department of the Treasury blacklists.

UCLA is technically state property, and not Los Angeles city property. Newsom himself could have commanded UCPD (the campus police) to put an end to this, and to call in local police and CHP for backup. He didn't.
When did they finally take action? Only after some pro-Israel counter protesters showed up and started fighting with the Hamas lovers, late at night on April 30th. All of a sudden it became an urgent matter and they took action -- but not before bashing the counter protesters only. LOL!
The left is so bad at handling things like this. You don't have to take a political position in order to enforce existing law. All they had to do was stand up to these Hamas lovers and say, "You can protest all you want, but no encampments, no restricted spaces, and no blocking or harassing other students." And then arrest anyone who defies this. Sure, some lefties will bitch about it, but the average American will understand and agree.

I used to date the daughter of a woman who was good friends with the girl Sandy Scheurer who got killed at Kent. She’d go up in May every year. They carpooled together when coming home for the weekend or holidays. Kent is like 45 minutes, but most kids didn’t have cars then. They were both going to school to be special education teachers. I recall he said he just got back from basic training like the month before and assigned to Ravenna. He was in six years, and I recall him later going to Ravenna every weekend when I was a kid and he was near end of his time. I might have been sick or something, but he was supposed to be there that day. I’d call and ask him but he’s probably in bed. He’s said many times he might have died in Nam if I wasn’t born when I was. I know he was always grateful to not be there that day, but I can’t remember if I helped him dodge that one also.
I was just thinking how odd it was that these might be the biggest protests since the 60s, and the SDS and all the protests back then were almost entirely ran by Jews. They would have never thought the next time this happens we’ll be what they’re protesting. I know all the sympathy at the time from my parents circle was with the kids shot. I mean he felt fortunate he wasn't there because once shooting starts, he might have not known wtf happened. They were all kids. I don't think I ever asked how the WW2 dads felt. If my grandfathers were fuck those hippies or sympathetic? I'm guessing they felt bad for all involved. I will have to ask.
