Yeah this shit used to happen in radio all the time.

A station would "fire" their well known morning guy, but he'd still be under contract because in reality they just cancelled his show and were not giving him any further work. So in these cases, he would have to sit and wait it out until his contract expired, and often this would ruin his momentum, as people would start to forget him, and he'd have a harder time getting hired elsewhere at that point. This, of course, was by design.

On the non-broadcast, tech front, this is similar to how big companies like Facebook will buy up any app/website they deem potential competition, with the intention to simply kill it and let it die. However, part of the deal always involves a years-long contract of the creator(s) of the website/app, where they're given a non-job and basically just have to veg out all day. This was lampooned at one point in a good scene in "Silicon Valley", before the show became repetitive shit.

FNC told Tucker he was not allowed to do anymore shows, cut him out of company email, and told he will have to negotiate an exit settlement. So technically he is still an employee under contract. Which means he can't work anywhere else or even for himself. Hence, he hired the high powered attorney.

A lot of people are pissed at FNC dumping Tucker without giving a reason, especially the viewers. His time slot has lost 2/3's of its viewers. MSLSD and CNN are now getting more viewers than FNC in that time slot. FNC's other prime time shows are way down in ratings too.

FNC's first blunder was the Dominion settlement, 2nd blunder was firing Tucker. They are going to be sued by share holders over Dominion. The shareholders can't be happy about Tucker either. They better start thinking about bringing him back.

On March 8, 2023, Alex Jones, of all people predicted Tucker Carlson wouldn't be at Fox News much longer. This was about 6 weeks before Tucker was fired.

Jones said that Carlson had a lot more explosive material on J6 concerning federal agents in the crowd that day. Massive pressure by deep state and Schumer caused the Murdochs to order Tucker not to do anymore J6 episodes to which Tucker protested. Tucker delayed those stories but was deadset on having them air at some point. So the Murdochs dumped him before he could do it.

Here's Jones predicting Carlson's departure from FNC. Just another conspiracy theory by Jones, right, Hanson? Especially that part about Tucker not being at FNC much longer.

Holy shit, this post is fully Q.

The ideas here are mostly the the fault of the modern GOP and not pushing back on the conspiracy theories that permeate in it's base, which Tucker Carlson is not entirely innocent of promoting. I mean he's no Alex Jones but "Patriot Purge" and other well trimmed "presentations" of January 6th video are beyond comical. Most of the reason why he stopped showing his edits is because his narrative wasn't getting much traction outside of right wing loons and there is/was a real possibility that he was going to get sued personally by Ray Epps (see 60 Minutes last week).

And then you have a guy like Mickeycrimm believing that there is a deep state in this country and that Chuck Schumer can somehow shut down Fox News. Lack of education, lack of critical thinking, smh..
