I will say spending the last few months in NY alone and basically locked down, for the most part I was a fan of how Gov. Cuomo handled the virus once it was here. I always thought of him as a bit of a lightweight, product of nepotism and kind of an asshole tbh. His daily press conferences, where he was essentially direct about the numbers and what we all should do to protect ourselves, without a doubt made a difference. I watched it most days and thought he did a great job with that.
However, his failure to act earlier and policy regarding nursing homes without a doubt cost many lives. I was surprised to see Jake a Tapper and Sanjay Gupta really take him to task on this “victory lap” he has been on. It has bothered me that he has passed all the blame for the deaths as a whole on the Federal response and has talked his way around his failed nursing home policy with semantics.
