Also worth noting that these bar buys and movie theater buys don't get counted at all as far as the ppv number goes. That number is strictly cable/sat/OTT consumer purchases.

I'm reading that ppv buys for the fight likely exceeded expectations. 700m plus is the rumour. Exact numbers should be known later this week.

Mayweather senior is awesome. I also think he's right, Conor needs to stay the fuck away from boxing. He will get hurt by the big hitting young fighters.
If any athletic commission were to sanction Conor against say, the Canelo/GGG winner, they should be arrested.
He could definitely still get in there with Paulie, though.
But if Malignaggi's legs still work somewhat like the used to, Paulie would still end up out boxing him.
Conor would tire out just from trying to trap him.
krypt is this true?

A local bar shows all the PPVs. I knew it cost a bar a ton to buy these so a couple years ago I asked the owner how it was worth it since there was maybe 25 people in his bar and no entry fee. He said that the Satellite provider told him as long as he does no advertising for the fight he can pay regular price
I'd bet his "Satellite provider" wasn't exactly a rep from Dish or DirecTV. The reason he couldn't advertise it is because if he did, he'd be fucked and the UFC and Joe Hand Promotions or whomever would sue his ass for the full fee and plenty of damages.
There's no legal leeway on those kinda things. If its a commercial establishment, commercial rules apply.
still do, a lot.

ok, let's let this thread die now.
Not quite yet, the final numbers are still interesting. White claims over 6.5m buys and 80m in live gate. Breaking both the records May vs PAC set.

Conor's corner literally did even know how to lace up his fucking gloves right.

The real (or what will ultimately be accepted as real) numbers wont be available for at least another week, maybe up to three. White's 6.5 million likely included worldwide PPV, which includes places like the UK which charges way less than the US and is never included in the US ppv number. So don't store those numbers too deep in the memory banks just yet.
The definitive highlight reel for this history-making fight.
