You've proved my point exactly. Like I said, any idiot can look at a chart and see a long term trend. But if you don't follow the market on a daily basis you won't know exactly what's moving it. Wikipedia isn't your answer either. Notice how the market tanked right after his election in 2008? Notice how the market went up the month before the first QE? Because of speculation of a quantitative easing. Then the market went up solid for the next year. Then the market fell...and more speculation of QE. Then the market went up.... Do you also notice that the market has gone up less and less with each new round of QE? It's because it didn't fucking work.

Also, you are bragging that the market went from 8000-13000 during the term. Look at your chart and see where the market was well before his term started. It was higher than 13000 so in for years Obama couldn't even get the market where it was well before his term.

You're a fucking drone. You don't know shit about the stock market and why it moves the way it does so stop spouting off.

Because you read the news. Economic data moves the market much more than earnings in these times. If you're beating the market on a consistent basis then you're wasting your talents posting on PFA because you belong in Manhattan.

I'm a long term investor who mostly plays the S&P. I was fortunate to start investing near the bottom and invested monthly all the way up. Now I will gladly invest all the way down because eventually we will make new highs in the market. I live in SW Florida and I see more construction now than anytime in the last few years. This fiscal cliff is not making the markets happy, nor is the re-election of Obama. Markets can deal with OBama but uncertainty of the fiscal cliff will kill the markets in the next 2 months. Play the VIX if you're feeling frisky. If nothing happens, or not enough happens, it's a certainty the US will fall into another recession first quarter 2013.

I told you its a good strategy...in this climate. If the economy wasn't complete shit it would be a terrible strategy. You would hopefully be invested in high growth stocks then.
