Which makes sense, from an economic perspective; they skipped at least 2 seasons worth of subplots getting here (Kingsmoot, Stoneheart, Riverdale, more). Why risk running out of material?
The problem is, one of the most attractive things about the TV series was that it 'trimmed the fat' getting to where it is now. No one wanted to see most of those subplots realized because they were pretty much just tedious filler with zero relevance to the central issues.
Even more alarming is that now that the central issues are taking the spotlight, needless distraction filler is going to be even more needless and more distracting.
Gotta wonder if this season is going to suck dicks.
