Fox News really screwed the pooch. They shouldn't have settled. They should have fought tooth and nail. Even if they lost it would have been a mid 8 figure judgement that would've been overturned on appeal. They got rid of Tucker most likely because they fear more lawsuits. But when you settle lawsuits like a chickenshit you are putting a big sign on your back that says SUE ME! They all come running to sue your ass.
Tucker will make much more money in the digital world than he ever made at Fox News. His fan base will go with him. And Fox News is going to be sued out the ass for years to come.
Unbelievably stupid decisions by the Murdoch's.
1. Tucker doesn't need the $.
2. Fox will by far be the biggest loser here.
3. He wasn't fired for the reasons stated.
4. Tucker would be the best person for President but doubt he is willing.
5. Fox has already hitched their wagon to DeSantis, though they are probably ready to trade him for Trump.
6. See #3 again, it is the most significant.
Isn’t big media essentially Bed Bath& Beyond eventually? Like their stock price is what it was 10 years ago despite them being the biggest fish. Like you can talk about revenue, but seems peak Fox was the O’Reilly years as far as appreciation. That conservative audience is bigger than ever, but all over the place and listening/watching 20 different things. I mean back in the 3 channel days, Cronkite was watched by 30 million a night in a country of 200 million. Now with 330 million, he’s watched by 1 in a 100 adults and 3 in a 1000 aged 25-54 demo.
Like $800 million hurts and there are more lawsuits. Sounds like it’s another lawsuit that’s more his specific problem Add in he talks a lot of shit about ownership on texts, and these guys are huge stars and he’s great at doing his thing, but not worth the drama. I assume they’ll find the next guy and just recover. It’s the same formula regardless of talent. It’s a sinking ship though, all of it, CNN and MSNBC and even Fox eventually. We are the last generation to watch this shit. And most of us don’t watch it regularly, just some clip.
It's so funny seeing liberals celebrate this like Ha!!! Fired!! All the while real conservatives jumping for joy knowing that this is not only the end of Fake Fox News, but cable TV in general. Fox News hasn't been conservative in 5 fucking years, just another also ran these days. The mainstream media just got the final nail in the coffin. It's officially over. Independent media is going to slowly destroy them over the next decade until they are a pile of rubble. This might be the greatest thing to happen to our cause since Trump got elected. Now watch Tucker get an ownership piece of Rumble and hop on that rocketship. What a GREAT day!!!
I should have known to get Bill O'Reilly's take on what happened at FNC. His snippet sat in my youtube feel until early this morning. Should have watch it earlier.
Even though O'Reilly was fired he's an insider; knows everyone at FNC. He brought up the Ray Epps interview on 60 Minutes. He thinks Epps is going to come with a lawsuit against Tucker. But the big news he delivered is all the coming lawsuits against the FNC Board of Directors.
O'Reilly also asserts Tucker's firing is going to hurt the Republican Party. You can get the gist of it in the first 10 minutes of the video:

Your Reilly post was excellent - amidst endless noise.
The most interesting assertion Reilly makes is that Carlsons staff was unaware the hammer was coming. They were in show prep. It appears Carlson didn’t leave of his own volition to run for President, start his own channel or what ever.
Tucker Carlson may indeed run for President or buy a winery in Napa but that was not his plan last Friday.
Epps was a public figure that day and suffers the consequences. Epps exposed himself to several kinds of risk. Tucker Carson was within his rights to examine Epps public actions. Yes, America is filled with fruitcakes but that isn’t Carlson’s responsibility. Sometimes life deals you a tough hand Epps.
I felt kinda bad toward the end of the “show” as Reilly engaged in quite a marathon of advertising hustle. Thought he’d bring out a bottle of Geritol. Everyone has a hustle on the webz.
I keep laughing about BCR’s observation that we are the last generation to consume stuff like Fox, CNN, CNBC, MSNBC and the like. He’s right. Not me personally. I got involved during Covid for the first time and then shut it off a year or two ago.
BCR invoked Walter Cronkite in the same post as Tucker Carlson and that’s quite a fete.
O'Reilly is still active. I have his No Spin News in my youtube feed. Whether one like's him or not he's a hard news guy that doesn't go with the anonymous sources bullshit. He also has a radio show called The O'Reilly Update and he makes regular appearances on other talk radio shows.
And he has a subscription website, billoreilly.com.
On these conservative podcasts and radio shows it's annoying but they do their own commercials.
