Hunt gassed rd 2, lol
They need to open the door for the super heavyweight otherwise known as the fat ass division for guys like Mark Hunt.
I had a nice steak and french onion soup earlier but I'm not even close to as gassed as Hunt is right now but he has shown some heart not just rolling over.
Thank God that is over.
when the Hunt fight ended last night, as soon as the ref called it off, I closed the window and kind of felt ashamed of myself for a minute, like, what the fuck are we doing here? So many times, SO MANY TIMES, the fight should have been called. If you are inclined to blame the corner for not stopping the fight, I would be inclined to agree in this case.
Also, the scorecards are as disappointing as ever. I was wondering if anyone would have the balls to give a 10-7 round, but one guy couldn't seem to bring himself to give even a single 10-8.
This might cause a future rift methinks:

Last December, Ultimate Fighting Championship announced that it had signed a six-year, $70 millon deal that would allow Reebok to be the exclusive outfitter of the UFC. Starting in July, all UFC fighters will wear Reebok uniforms and training apparel, and no other sponsors will be allowed to advertise with the fighters. We didn’t know how well Reebok would compensate the athletes in lieu of outside branding. Now we know. It doesn’t look good.
The UFC pays most of its fighters peanuts, but until the Reebok deal, they were at least able to bolster their incomes by selling real estate on their trunks, tops, and hats. That’s over now. Brendan Schaub is a decent heavyweight who has fought 10 times in the UFC. He’ll never be champion, but still hauled in six figures in each of his last six fights from sponsorships. The next time he fights, he’ll make $10,000 from the Reebok deal.
Mike Roberts, who represents fighters including Anthony Pettis and Paige VanZant, told MMA Fighting that “85 to 90 percent” of his fighters are losing money.
“This Reebok deal is not going away,” Roberts said. “It’s just not gonna go away. It’s gotta be fixed. It’s gotta be tweaked, because everybody is not worth the same.”
LOL at " Brendan Schaub is a decent heavyweight"
Crowe,
I had the impression, based on his previous fights, that he can take a beating, so they would be prone to letting him stay in there longer, unless he REALLY looks like he is getting pummeled. That may be why they didnt end it earlier. Some guys are just good punching bags and can take it.

Interesting take on the Reebok deal from Chael Sonnen.
I turned it off somewhere in the third it was so bad. I had mentioned before the early stoppages in the preceding fights, but they could all be justified. This really should have ended at the top of the third. It looked like kicking a kitten after awhile.

So, during the weigh ins, Weidman said that he just found out that Vitor had a testosterone score of 1200, and the two of them went at each other verbally during the pose down.
Should be a fun night for sure. Lots of great match ups.
Wow! I predict if Weidman loses all hell will break loose.
They gotta tighten up the testing limits and find a way to fail fighters with suspicious test results. I'll be pissed if Vitor wins.
Edit: Went to Sherdog, Many claim Weidmans test results were stranger than Vitors.
May be a fair fight, they either all need to be able to juice a little or all be clean. As long as it isn't clean vs juiced, that'd be pretty dangerous and produces one sided fights.
We'll see
Looks like people are finding ways around testing or new drugs.
it's ridiculous but I really want Cormier to do the dance if he knocks out Johnson

Scoggins/Sampo Under Rounds 2.5 -105 good value
Holy fuck. KO in 28 seconds. Can't ever sleep on Dan Henderson.
Amazing event. God is Brian Orega.
I still dont quite believe Poirier can fuck with high level talent btw.
plus Ben Rothwell walks out like a Sith lord then goes all Kevin Sullivan promo after the fight

For those who missed it because nobody is man enough to make a thread, I mean I slept through it, but still.

Henderson is one of my Top 5 favorite fighters all time and he keeps pushing his body to continue. It's bitter sweet to me because when a guy like that can't retire and goes out on a bad note it sucks but that fight just proved how strong that mofo still is, however, get him up against someone with speed, discipline, and length then he is likely fucked.
I just hope the guy retires soon on top because he's a fucking legend to me and I don't like to see people overstay their welcome because just just don't know when it's time to retire.
Aldo out rib injury?
NOOO
oh this fucking sport..
Aldo's injury only a rib "bruise" rather than a broken rib. UFC 189 still on
BUT .................
They went ahead and named Chad Mendes as the backup plan if Aldo can't fight.
so, you should read chael's comment on this before you assume that rib is bruised and not splintered.
tl;dr: aldos contract gives him points on ppv over minimal buy, but aldo has such awful draw that hes never cashed in on it. this was, thanks to conor, the only ppv he ever had any realistic chance of pulling a buy bonus off of, and the minimum bonus amount expected was 3.5 million USD.
so whoever went public about his rib literally took 3.5 million dollars out of his fucking pocket.
chael also predicted that the rib, previously reported as straight up broken, would be portrayed as less severely damaged so aldo can show up and do his thing.
greasy shit.
brb stocking up on conor "fuck a nigga up with body blows" mcgregor.
NSAC is doing an independent investigation of his rib, and they will pass/fail him for clearance as they see fit.
And btw the fight is off the books already at Bovada. Which is ominous.
FYI, the Machida Romero fight night this week is in the small cage, where finishes are a plenty. Get your under props in now.
