Mexico is different...but fun. The people are nicer and seem to be at peace with themselves . The 'family' mentality seems to be cherished and more embraced. I was starting to find that sadly lacking in American culture
I feel safe here in Ensenada.....initially I was concerned about all the rumors I heard about Mexico being dangerous...but after being here almost 6 months now.....I disagree.....especially on the Baja peninsula. its very safe if you just watch your back and don't associate with the wrong people
I don't go out looking for trouble....just been fishing and swimming and hanging out....lots of good people where I live now....the staff is awesome and they have been accommodating and reliable

But that complex was next to some kind of covert Mexican military facility. They were always doing work on the poles and electronics and the place has stationed Mexican army guards usually standing outside brandishing AK-47's or whatever
The cartel has a huge stronghold in Rosarito, it was pretty obvious
