That fucker banned me on 4.
If you haven't been banned on that sex offender registry you are doing something wrong. I've had a couple solid names banned over there.
Same with yelp. I've had more accounts on that faggot site than I care to admit. Yelp hates hard hitting facts
still trying to figure out how a show with a 1000 reg listeners isn't nominated??/ ive never even hear of a couple of those other podcasts...
There are over 1000 listeners each week, when you add up live, iTunes, Stitcher, and the direct archives on this site.
Live actually makes up a small percentage of that. I think most listeners catch the show at work or while playing long poker sessions. I had a woman e-mail me that she and her boyfriend listen to the show every week while making a routine 3-hour drive that they have to do on a certain day of the week.
LOL at poker reader's choice awards in 2013.
Bigger LOL at anyone giving two shits about it.
How are you tracking iTunes data? My understanding is that Apple doesn't keep records of plays or subscribers. It simply checks your sever periodically for updates to your XML feed.
If you're basing it on those server requests, you're most likely overestimating the audience by a lot. If you know something I don't, please share, as I would find it very useful to track iTunes podcast data.
i feel for you druff, as it must be now hard at your family dinners
as that nomination sure would have negated any stories that boastful surgeon brother would have told
''yeh, i had a 15 hour surgery today on a 4 year old girl''
''haha i got nominated for the best poker podcast, yeh'' *grinning*
dad: ''i told you son not to waste 15 years at medical school''
''im proud of your todd''
Slightly off topic, but have to say that Yelp allowed me to rip the new casino in the San Francisco Bay Area, Graton Resort & Casino. Yelp also allowed me to take a couple of shots at Station Casinos with hard hitting facts. It was received well with the Yelp community. http://www.yelp.com/biz/graton-resor...WCUtzCXnldJKSQ
Yelp doesn't ban many people. They just filter reviews.
Here is how to beat it:

Quote:
Dan Druff: I'm sure your ads on the net to suck off Asian boys make your family really proud
family member: ''hey saul, how have you been,'
druffs dad: (trying to pretend he didnt see and hear him, just keeps on walking)
family member:''hey''
dad: ''sorry didnt see you (not looking forward to the upcoming interogation)
family member: '' how are the kids...what are they are doing, ones a doctor, you must be proud?''
dad: ''yeh, he is a very successful surgoen'' (panic attacks are starting)
family member: ''and the other 2"
dad: ''yeh Elsie is * insert successful profession*'' *literally cant breathe*
family member: what about todd?
dad: '' i cant breathe...CALL 911!!!!''
family member: ''stop joking, saul''
dad: (Struggling to talk) ''do i look like i am giggling"
I read your "Beating the Yelp Filter" article a couple of times and appreciate the advice. Maybe I'll review Caesars Entertainment or another local casino in the Bay Area. I've met most of your criteria and will log in at least once a week to vote and add friends. I think the Facebook function of Yelp provides additional credibility. Will you friend me if you are a member? Thanks!
Reality check; do any of you guys really believe a radio show that regularly gives TMMLK airtime stands a chance of being nominated for an award?
#FlyingStupidity
For the record I like the show. I just thought it was more of a niche market and had no idea that a bunch of people that don't post here listened. It pretty much has to be better than those other podcasts as far as I'm concerned.
PFA has a good podcast. I wouldn't lose sleep over the snub.
I'd have to listen on a regular basis the 5 nominees to determine if it is a snub but who the fuck has the time for that? Not me that's for sure.
Yup. I don't pull any data directly from iTunes.
Formula to determine ratings = PFA Server Downloads (which includes iTunes) + Live listeners + Stitcher listens. I then subtract a little because of likely "duplicate listens" that occur in the server downloads.
In case you think I'm still just making up numbers, keep in mind that PFA appears in 119 playlists on Stitcher alone, and that is much less common (and less known) than listening it through iTunes or direct server download.
You can verify the 119 playlists here: http://www.stitcher.com/podcast/druf...ff-drexel-show
Keep in mind the 119 figure doesn't include people who just search for it on Stitcher and don't bother adding it to a playlist.
no, its the very beginning, actually. The Bluff awards are the very 1st thing they talk about.

edit: sorry Pooh, Gilbert's sticking around for a while.
this, not to mention druffs interview on poker-news site, i was happy to here the guys on the poker cast giving pfa props. they defiantly have a good podcast recorded in a professional studio always sounds good and mostly interesting........ sory druff the poker cast would probably get my vote, mostly for them running a tight ship. that being said pfa has a better format i feel and if there were a more permenant cohost pfa would be much better IMO.
