I am 83. How about you shut the fuck up and spoon with Anonmoose you fucking obsessed geek. Back in the day in 2008 I would have ran you off these parts, now I laugh at you pecker beating trolls.

I think you're trying to post sober today; it's really depressing and needs to stop.
We wants our intoxicated/delusional Bottomset back..
Make up another vacation or something; I think you mentioned recently that 'Hawaii' and 'Alaska' mgiht be coming up.
Endless possibilities, bra
Seriously? You made this thread about me AGAIN? You are so obsessed with me (like AnonMoose) you jump in at every opportunity. In 2009 I would have dragged you down the street and sent you away from the forums.
Faggot, I am not interested in your geeked out fantasy of forum battles. Please get a life. Any other comments please put into "reps" like your buddy Anonmoose so I can ignore and not pollute the board.
What a fucking fag
No not that. I think that most people will end up eating more not because of an oral fixation but more in line with the fact that their appetite returns to a normal level after such a long period of being repressed by the nicotine. I have long thought that the nicotine gum would do wonders for nonsmokers as a diet aid as it kills appetite.
I was thinking about your post and ran across some great articles tonight you should read - apparently there has been a lot of research and some good stats generated - news to me as well.
You should def read this: http://casaa.org/uploads/Ecigarettes...e_policies.pdf
Here's a bunch of helpful articles: http://casaa.org/Printable_Material.html
Bought an inexpensive e-cig kit tonight at a local store and have been vaping for an hour or two. It's definitely not the same as smoking, but it's pleasant enough. I have high hopes that I will never buy another pack of smokes. If anyone else is a smoker here, I highly recommend you look into this. I'll let you know if I slip up and go back to cigs.
OK, seems like an underwhelming response to this thread, but I am still thinking of anyone here who smokes cigarettes and I'm convinced this is the way to quit, so please listen up if you smoke.
I'm on day 3 of vaping, and have no desire to go back to cigs. I will admit that in the beginning it is hard to find the perfect combination of set-up (equipment) and liquid. Since everyone's taste is different, and your tolerance to nicotine level is going to vary, it's nearly impossible for one person to recommend what will work for you - plus there's a million things out there to buy/try. I will say that after a few days with an "eGo" style battery, I am wishing I had something a bit more robust (something that produces more vapor). I am also still searching for the perfect e-liquid. So far out of the two I've tried, I like the first one better - it's a menthol flavor made by 4EverEjuice, but at 16 mg, it is giving me a very slight headache and making it hard to fall asleep (too much nicotine for me). The other juice I tried is a much lower nicotine content (6 mg) by Voda, but it also has a higher VG content (vegetable glycerin), and I absolutely hate it. When I vape a hit, it makes my lungs and brain feel... thick and foggy (best way I can describe it). It's the worst sensation ever - at least for me. So I'm very early in the process of discovering what I like and what works for me. But I'm totally not giving up because I have read a thousand + success stories on the ECF forums and I know there's a combination out there that will work for me.
If anyone here wants to stop smoking, please PM me and I'll do my best to refer you to information that will help you make your first steps. There's no reason to kill yourself slowly with cigarettes any more - there IS a solution and I promise you, you can do it.
No, just that the ecig community, through endless inventing and improving on the initial technology, have come up with a way to quit that really works.
Oh Jeez, nothing more nauseating than a reformed smoker trying to help others switch to their new lifestyle. You have been off the weed less than a week. When the high of helping others into your new cult wears off will you convert to veganism? Post when you have quit for a year.
Smoking is a habit of denial, with the devil sitting close by laughing. I heard that today from a caregiver of an old man with obstructive pulmonary disease. He was using his aerosol machine trying to open his hardened nonoxygen giving lungs while coughing up bloody yellow sputum. I encourage all smokers to get a paper bag, cut a small hole in it, put it over your head and breathe. When it becomes uncomfortable go a little longer. When you finally yank that bag off and gasp for air, think of having a condition where there is no bag and you cant get air. That is the effects of long term smoking. To suffocate is a terrible death.
Everyone needs to have their I quit moment. Mine was when my kid was 2. I caught pneumonia from smoking outside in winter and woke one day and couldnt breathe. Have never smoked since, but I understand the denial. I watched my Dad die of lung cancer while I puffed and puffed away.
Some people never have that I quit moment. I saw a patient who smoked through the hole in his neck. His trachea was closing from overgrowth due to a reaction to smoking. He needed a tracheal transplant to survive. He is 48. I said to to him sir, we all have to hit the I need to quit moment. Please crawl out from the devil of denial and take a good look at what is going on with yourself. I hope you make the right decision.
11 days without a cigarette and not missing them! Pretty jazzed right now, I have to say. :o)
good luck vwls, i truly hope you do manage to quit smoking, also if you do you are lucky to know that your lungs are one of the few organs in your body that can rejuvenate it's self and after six years the damage you have done to your lungs will all be gone.
i saw some one this weekend with a ecig and he was smoking hash oil with it.....so he gave me a hit and it was gooood you know!
LOL well... that kind of sucks because people are trying really hard to educate the police and others about e-cigs so they don't get questioned for vaping in public... (people getting pulled over for vaping while they drive, etc) and if someone is adding hash oil, that makes the process that much more impossible. BUT - I am just SO freaking happy right now that I went down this path. I am loving vaping and I won't go back to cigs - like EVER. That's a true miracle. Vaping is saving lives - who knows what would have happened to me if I didn't find it.
Just ordered a Provari and a Protank as well as some new flavors to try: banana, caramel apple, strawberry, pear, and cappuccino... lots of adventure to come as the flavors and options are never ending. At first I thought I'd only want tobacco flavors but I'm already over it.
I used e-cigs to successfully quit smoking hookah about 1 year ago. The thing that gum or patches don't replace is blowing "smoke" out of your mouth. I don't use the ecig anymore, but I keep it around just in case.
I'm down with anyone smoking if they like it, and totally respect those that question if ecigs are even healthy or effective. However I toss my name in the hat of people that say give ecigs a try if you want to try and quit smoking.
Well I can tell you that e-cigs, or vaping, is very effective as a cessation method for cigarette smokers... I've read hundreds of success stories these last few months. As to of how bad it is for you, it's certain from the research that it is safer than smoking. Health impact needs to be studied, but as it becomes a larger profit option for big business, we'll see that data emerge as well.

Not for nothing but Badguy's girl has brought new life to the forum's tit game. You wouldn't care to raise the bar would you?
I was a light smoker since I was 15 years old and gave it up a couple of years ago. It was no big deal, I actually realized I hadn't smoked in a while and went with it. I'm the guy that could sit in a casino and smoke a whole pack of Camel Crush, and then go home and not smoke for two weeks.
I was intrigued by ecigs, and frankly with some of the stress of the new job I wanted to smoke. So I waltz into my local smoke shop and pick up a Blu starter pack. http://www.blucigs.com/ They looked liked regular cigs and figured they were my style, and I was right. They simulate the smoking experience, give you some nicotine, and all in all was a pretty damn good substitute.
Except for one thing, the "pack", or charging unit, is a piece of shit. I don't know about you lot, but I've got USB chargers of all types all over my house. The Blu charger pack runs on a micro USB charger, and I would routinely pick the closest one and plug it in.
What that got me was two blown chargers in pretty short order. These things aren't cheap either, like $35 bucks or so for a charger, 5 cartridges and 2 batteries. So after blowing two chargers a change was in order. I found myself 10 miles past hell and gone on Saturday, but of course in 2013 I come across a convenience store/smoke shop and got the advice and recommendations I was looking for. For about $25, I got a real vaporizor, 2 batteries, and two vials of FDA approved juice (lol no I don't believe that). VASTLY superior to the bullshit Blu, and if you're interested in this type of thing go talk to your local smoke shop guy and he'll let you know what's up. I'm currently enjoying a fine peach/tobacco flavored blend, and actually prefer this to cigarettes at this point.
Just stopping in to say that after spending 5 days in CO with friends for some Phish shows, half of our group were using vape pens with hash oil or wax. For about 30-50 for the pen, and 50 for replacement cartridges that last about 200 puffs, these guys have a great alternative to inconspicuously trying to take a hit off a bowl or one hitter.
We had one inside a venue the other day here in Chicago for Govt Mule and security just assumed it was an ecig. Just a small puff of smoke afterwards...they have no idea what these things are. You press the button in the center (which will light up), and the coils apparently heat up the hash/wax and take a 2-5 second puff, then let go of the button (which will still glow for another 2 seconds, so you may want to keep that covered with your finger until over).
Highly recommended. People will mail out filled replacement carts for $50 for you from there if you can find the right connections.
For those using ecigs in Los Angeles in bars and restaurants they have banned that activity which baffles me.
http://healthland.time.com/2014/03/0...ban-to-e-cigs/
Second hand vapor is completely harmless. You'll still find people that feign irritation at it, either out of ignorance or overbearing disapproval. You know, the sort of people that would like to ban baggy pants or PDA.
That said, my guess is that tobacco lobbyists are largest influence on these sort of decisions.
The only legitimate reason that places may not want to allow e-cigs is from a distance (especially in dark settings) they appear to look real. A place may not want to look around all over for someone who might light up a real one or think the law will allow them to since hey see other people vaping but don't realize it's just that and might think they are smoking if seeing the person from a distance.
In a heavily traveled area especially with a lot of International tourism such as LA politicians might think they are avoiding confusion by eliminating e-cig usage. Is this the right way to go about it? No, and I'm a non-smoker who was even against banning "real" smoking in bars and bar/restaurants but felt people shouldn't have to deal with that in family places like a McDonalds, Dennys, and similar places where you can be out in less than an hour.
Of course like you said lobbyists are a big part since they control politicians who will fight anything when money is thrown their way.
Chemistry is not my strong suit, so I can't explain to you in great detail the difference between smoke and vapor (such as water vapor), but I'm sure you're aware there is a distinction.
Much research has been done on the effects of inhaling chemical smog and second-hand cigarette smoke. Both are clearly harmful. Cigarette smoke contains tar and various carcinogens in addition to nicotine. Ecig vapor just contains nicotine. It also lacks the sidestream that cigarettes produce. Little research has been done on the effects of inhaling second-hand nicotine vapor, so I could be wrong that it's completely harmless, but what little research I have seen suggests that it's no more harmful than having other humans breathe and fart around you.
mcig.com
used this thing this past weekend. Its great. I put a very sticky type of weed in it though (ICE); I would use something a little less sticky. Its $10 + 3 for shipping. Looks like a small ecig
Edit: Britney, lots of joints going around too, but in CO, everyone is smoking wax now (MUCH MUCH more potent than just smoking a bowl) so they just put that gooey shit in a vape pen and its much easier and cheaper with less waste than a bowl or joint.
I've been vaping for 2 years. No analog cigarettes since March of 2012. It made it very easy for me to completely kick a pack-a-day Marlboro Lights habit (20+ years).
If it helps, I will give you the specs of the PV I've used that worked wonders for me:
1100 mah batteries (EGO, KGO are both good brands...Riva is good, too)...Get something between 3.7 volt & 4.5 volts or so..
1.8 ohm vision single-coil cartomizer that screws onto the battery....Try for roughly half the ohms as the voltage of the battery you're using for a satisfying throat hit.
I use VG (vegetable glycerin) juice...Thick and viscous compared to PG (propylene glycol), but I am a bit allergic to PG and VG works just as well..
Pina colada, Summerberry, Hot cocoa, and apple pie are favorite juice flavors.
Never ever going back to cigarettes again. Started at 24 mg nicotine levels, scaled down to 18 mg, and will continue to scale down over time.
Been in casinos many times over the past two years. Never was tempted to smoke in the slightest.
Vaping is a godsend for me.
If you need more details or help with some starter specs just PM me.
I realize this thread is more general interest & politically-oriented concerning vaping.
However, on a personal level I just tried this hot cocoa juice I had steeped for a couple weeks in a dark cedarwood drawer and it is SOOOO damn good!! So smooth with just the right subtle hints of sweet marshmallow chocolate; it's like a taste of heaven with every vape.
For the uninitiated, steeping your juice is simply leaving the cap off the top so that air enters the bottle. Squeeze the bottle occasionally to replace the empty air on top. It really makes for kickass flavors if you are patient enough.
Man, was it worth the wait! I'll be one sad puppy when this bottle finishes.
Agree with the bold part, and also I would toss in the smell from some of them can travel the same as a cig or cigar.
But really, it is L.A., is it that hard to step outside for nicotine? It's not like having to go outside in January in like Minnesota or something.
I'm also not a smoker (I do dip though) and I generally was in favor of the smoking bans at first. However, after xx amount of years of it going, most bars/restaurants have realized that their business has been unaffected by it, and in a lot of cases actually gone up. I'm fairly certain that if it stopped being a law now here where I live, probably 80-90% of places would remain non-smoking anyway, and the rest could have a niche market for people who enjoy the old smoke-filled pubs. Of course the issue there then is the staff working at the smokey places.....
I live not too far from Ohio and when they passed the law to ban smoking in all bars and restaurants it killed the business for many of them especially the local hole in the wall type of bars. I have a few friends who played in a band with a regular gig four or five nights a week which the bar lost so much business that they had their job cut as well. It's not easy to get a dedicated gig like that as many places will give you a night or two but nothing like several nights a week every week. The law was voted and shot down several times for years before finally the people pushing for it in Ohio got it to pass and once it's in they can forget about it.
Here in Michigan when it passed it hurt bars initially and a few closed that I know of around me but now people have become accepting of the law. The problem I have with the law in smaller bar establishments is I feel it should be up to the owner whether you can smoke or not. If you have ran a place for 30 years and now the state says no more smoking allowed it's kind of shitty when it was allowed forever to take it away now. On the flip side I'm sure some restaurants and bars were quietly happy about this passing because they didn't like smoking but since it was allowed everywhere else they felt they had to cater to these people or lose that business. By passing the law the playing field is level now.
What gets on my nerves is that people can smoke in casinos here in Michigan IF the casino allows you to do so. The reason this annoys me is if your going to have a smoking ban everywhere but allow it in casinos that don't seem right to me but obviously their is big tax dollars in casino revenues so the state will look the other way and cater to smokers with open arms for greater financial gain.
sick bump here. 17 months tomorrow cig free. vaping is god?
kinda embarrassing that vwls vapes n-word weed wasnt a tag until today
I'm vaping a bad ass rock right now, does that count?
Here's your other, newer vaping thread, Chaps: http://pokerfraudalert.com/forum/sho...-cigs-w-vaping

FDA is about to clamp down big time on vape shops/manufacturers in the few months, tho. Going to stock up a bit on supplies here in US.
