Tipping check-folded facing a 6,000 bet from Witteles on the 3♥ 4♠ Q♦ flop and Witteles, known for hosting the Poker Fraud Alert podcast, added to his stack.

Taking 317.5k into Day 3 of WSOP Main, making this my 5th Day 3 in past 7 tries. No idea what average is but I’m a good deal above it.

Good Day 1 table draw, though it worsened as the day went on.
Day 2 table draw didn't matter, as it lasted 40 minutes. Next table, which I was at for a lot of the day, was also a fairly good draw, but once again it got worse, with the busted players being replaced by good pros. Then that one broke and I was moved to a really good table, which I was dominating until I ran into a semi-short stack's KK when I had JJ.
I somehow got Jerod Smith again at my WSOP Main table yesterday, which always seems to happen. He ended up busting after our table broke.
I also played with William "The Poker Monkey" Souther, an outspoken guy who in fact was banned from the WSOP for a decade (I forget the details). He and I have always gotten along, but we aren't friends. Anyway, he ran into a big cooler with me where he raised KK from the cutoff, I 3-bet AA from the button, he smooth called, and then check-raised a JJ7 board. Turn J (obviously very happy to see that), he still fired, I called. River 8, and I'm only losing to a J. He checked with just 36k behind. Even though the pot was big (check-raise on flop was 30, turn bet was 38), I decided to only fire 20, so he was less inclined to fold what I thought was surely a lesser pocket pair. He called and was left with 16, and said he had KK. Later he mentioned that he "probably would have folded" to an all in on the river, so I probably made the right move betting 20. I was not folding no matter what.
Don't feel bad for the Monkey, though. He doubled through someone, and then the table broke. Then he finished the night with 220k.
The money is likely to hit at the end of Day 3 or early Day 4. Day 2D is going right now. It will be close whether they break last year's record of 10,043 entries.

Reminds me somewhat of Danielle Andersen. Got 64th in the 2021 Main. Probably pretty good. I don't know any of the names so far, except Brad Nessar who is on those Twitter Spaces. Don't really know him though.
That's a good stack, probably top 5%. The WSOP site is so bad at updating tournaments in progress.
The least they could do is update bust outs and start of day chipcounts.

The hat is from 2013. Just sat in my closet many years until my other one wore out (and also got lost).
I will make some more... eventually.
Important stuff:
I didn't get a haircut or shave before this WSOP. I was going to before the Main, but I said fuck it. Maybe a regrettable decision if I get TV time.
I'm not as gray as it appears. Most of my hair is still brown. However, the sideburns are mostly gray, and my beard, which wasn't gray at all at age 49, has been getting progressively grayer since my 50th birthday (though it looks grayer in pics than real life). I've never dyed my hair or my beard, and I don't plan to, unless everything goes prematurely gray. But since it's appropriate for my age (52), I leave it.
Am I fat? Sadly, yes. As I mentioned before, I had a foot problem from September through February, and couldn't solve it until I finally got a medication which worked. This made it hard to walk around, let alone exercise, and my weight rose about 20 pounds.
