I only discovered this after it was over.
They're going to have to correct this situation (and make each link unique) for future drops. System was malfunctioning big time because too many people were trying to get on, due to link sharing.
I ended up with two Z6, one female, one male. At least I think I got two. One I have for sure, the other it charged my WETH but I don't have yet.
A third one attempted to charge, but failed somehow, and looks like I didn't get. Error was on their end, but them's the breaks.
The system didn't work well, though, and required tons of refreshing and rapid re-clicking to get anything done.

My second horse absolutely doesn't show up. I assume he's in some kind of purgatory because they processed my payment but haven't given him to me yet. How does Zed Run not have people working around the clock on this? Seems like they just got up and went home. Sad!
Let's hope they don't fuck this up, Top Shot style. I'm already seeing the signs of incompetence and mismanagement. On the bright side, this is more fun and more interesting than Top Shot, so it may have more of a future.

I didn't predict last year that I'd be breeding with a gay banned PFA user, but here we are.
if you could have landed a z10 for $130ish you could have sold it on opensea today for about $1k
if you could have bought a z5 for $3800, you could sell it for about $8k
and those numbers are before breeding and selling your offspring or stud fees you might make
pfa members, you need to get in on these drops - it's like some of you hate free money

Anecdotal, but from what I saw today, the Z9-Z10 were suuuuuuuuper hard to get because everyone with a few hundred $ to scratch together was competing for them.
I decided to put more effort into targeting Z6 because there were fewer people with the $1500 or so needed for them.
Z9/10 seem to have the best instant sale profit margin though.

A scandal already brewing. Apparently the mobile version worked way better than the desktop (the reverse of what is typical in situations like these), and people with mobile were able to load up on horses quickly, while the desktop versions were all freezing at the beginning of each drop.
This would explain why the Z9 and Z10 vanished so quickly, and why it seemed nearly impossible to get one. I'm guessing that mobile people who caught this chose to load up quickly on the high-ROI horses they coudl afford with their existing WETH balance, rather than blowing it all on 1-3 more expensive horses.

Honestly this entire drop was mismanaged, and not just in hindsight. It's baffling to me that they didn't:
1) Make each link specific to each account, so sharing wouldn't help
2) Put a hard cap on number of horses one could purchase in the drop
3) Make sure the system is properly stress tested, including by ensuring mobile and desktop had the same performance

my biggest gripe is that a lot of these whales bought out all the z9 & 10's (just look at the screenshot), making it harder for newbies to get a foot in the door
there should really be some restrictions on amount of each z level you can purchase during a drop
now there's an even larger barrier to entry for people wanting to get involved because they have to buy these horses on secondary markets for $1k+, instead of $120
been fishing all weekend so didnt have a chance to buy any digital horses will prob try when then next drop happens tho

yeah, unlike Top Fail you are in control of your funds at all times through your metamask account
the only downside is eth fees are so high right now and you have to pay every time you convert eth to weth, or vice versa

why does he do this? he's honestly just trying to grow the community and help people get started

also just a suggestion: you have to start with ETH to buy a horse and it is mooning, so if you worried about missing out on ETH price jumps just hang onto any current ETH and buy some at spot for this transaction or else it could be a mind fuck

Of course nothing wrong with trying to wait until the next drop and getting a horse that way, but it may be a while and with a dwindling supply of Genesis horses left it’s going to be tough to get one.
