Truth of the matter is I've been thinking I want to have children within 5 years. In my mind, considering my age anything beyond 5 years wouldn't really be all that fair to a child as far as the chance of having a father around for a good portion of their life. I lost my dad 7 years ago and it definitely made me reconsider my thought process when it came to this.

Yes, non invasive prenatal can be done after 8 weeks. Been looking into this. She's perfectly fine with it. We are both no angels.

That's literally changing daily. Had you asked me that question 2 days ago my answer would have been different. I'm quickly becoming emotionally invested for several reasons. At this point I'd lean more to the side of being upset about it.

As far as the non invasive... Still reading up on it and will make the calls starting Tuesday. Apparantly it's possible to do through blood tests, but that seems to be something new and maybe not available here or just bullshit.

According to my sister who is an OBGYN there is no non invasive paternity test until the baby is born. She says there are risks as high as 1/200 chance of miscarriage to do an in utero paternity test. 1/200 odds seem shitty and not worth it to me. Maybe just trust the girl it's yours and roll with it until the baby is born. My sis is not a geneticist or expert on paternity tests so she said there could be a way she isn't aware of.

Most men don't get that invested in a child until the baby is born, maybe you're different and very paternal but I didn't develop a significant bond with my son until a couple months after birth.

If it helps I didn't get any real warm and fuzzy feeling until my son started smiling at me. While my wife was pregnant I felt it was my job to support her and make her life and mood swings easy but had we lost the baby I wouldn't have lost sleep. My bond at 5 months is enormous now and I'd take a bullet for my son in a second. I bet your lady is telling the truth and it's yours. She would likely have the timing pretty darn close.

Yeah, I think most responsible men would also struggle to abort. I was an alcohol addicted man child in my 20's in both cases. One girl was fucking insane and not fit to be a mom, the other was sweet and probably would have made a wonderful mother but she was also getting fat and other than a drunken fuck I didn't enjoy spending a second with her.

I haven't reflected on those situations in a decade. It's a bit sad now to think I could have had a couple of kids in their mid teens.

A small point but it's nonsense. My wife treats me incredibly well but if I have a bad nights sleep or business isn't going well I can be hard to deal with. This is no fault of hers. Just the same, a hormonal, tired and physically uncomfortable pregnant woman can, at times be hard to deal with. This doesn't require the father to not treat her well. It also doesn't even mean there are fights or petty arguments. Many times during my wife's pregnancy I found her difficult to deal with but I understood why and treated her well, she would absolutely agree. She would also agree she was very challenging at times.

Sounds like this was a business decision on her part. 31 year old Chinese women don't "accidentally" get pregnant by 50 year old white dudes they have been seeing casually the last 10 years. You should be flattered. Means she believes you are in a good financial situation and have good genes. As this was most likely intentionally I doubt any chance it isn't yours, so I wouldn't worry too much about that.
