I created an account mostly to go to bat for JJ in the merge thread who's a friend of mine, so I'll probably contribute over there. Saw this thread so I thought I'd pop in to say hi.
I'm old now, turning 40 in about 6mo... fuck. For the most part I'm retired now especially from online play. I moved to Canada for 2y after BF, and that was cool for awhile, but now I'm back in Pittsburgh raising my 3 kids. As far as sports I only bet NFL now, as I think for a non handicapping line shopper that's really the only thing worth anything in 2017 using my methods from 10 years ago. I spend next to zero time on it, and even NFL is barely profitable. I probably wouldn't even bother with NFL if I didn't enjoy watching it.
I still play poker a few days a month in a private game that may involve a few local athletes, that sometimes gets pretty stupid stakes wise. I play mostly PLO and Mix now... blah blah LHE is a dead game, 4+ cards is the future of poker, etc. I definitely don't grind anything 40h+ a week anymore, MAYBE 4-5 days a month which I honestly prefer as it's a much healthier lifestyle than logging 60h weeks at the computer like I used to.
Yes, I did acquire some of that bitcorn which I'm "hodl'ing" / lightly day trading, and that keeps life interesting. Still friends with Micon, who I talk to occasionally and am involved in a crypto think tank group with as well as some other extremely sharp former poker players now playing the crypto game full time. Say what you will about Micon, but he's brilliant and a visionary who maybe is just a little sloppy with execution, but I think crypto is/was his ticket to wealth.
But ya, mostly retired, saved/invested my jew gold from the gambling boom years, trying to be healthier and enjoy life before I get too old.
