You beau really has issues to risk his life and your life over some petty traffic incident. If gunfire on both sides erupted and you caught an errant bullet in the neck paralyzing you, would it been worth it?

Oh, and if he had killed the guy at a minimum he would have spent the next year in Court defending manslaughter charges since you willfully stopped and he willfully got out armed looking for a fight. Most likely would have bankrupted him in legal fees if he was not convicted (all states are different with 'stand your ground').

Ask George Zimmerman if it was worth it two years later. Guy is bankrupt, divorced and living with his parents.

I have always simply moved over and let them pass, it's just so simple and mostly no hastle and often get a thank you wave. Slowing down and holding up the flow of traffic even and if you are going legal limit is a super duche move and are asking for a confrontation, usually see old grumps with nowhere to go doing this but I can totally see Thomas doing this lol such a ass move.

1. Tailgaiting is a douchier move in the first place, and not a behavior I'm going to reward.

2. It's practical and works. 90% of the time, they get the point and pass you. Which they should have just done in the first place.

1. in Vancouver Tail Gating is just normal driving if you leave a space some one will fill it or cut you off to get in, at speeds above 50km little more space is needed some times. When you say reward i am wondering if you are pretending to be the police or some authority to stop bad drivers in your city. for me i will mind my owns driving and stay away from bad drivers, i could really care less what other people are doing in there cars.

It is not your place to judge other people and how they drive and certainly it is not your place to do anything about it other than to phone the authorities. Bad drivers, road rages, tailgaters and overly aggressive drivers. will all eventually get caught and or get into accidents and be banned from driving, hopefully before they kill some one.

on the other hand if you driving like you are a road authority the actions you might take could easily cause a accident and YOU could get injured, which is not worth your efforts IMO.

I just pass them, whether legally or illegally (provided I can see what's coming on the other side).

No a car tried to run me off the road, and then actually did run someone off the road who they erroneously thought was me trying to get by them.

But no, I don't like some psycho tailgating me because you never know who is following you or what they are capable of doing.

However, if someone just slows down in front of me in order to "punish" me for coming up too fast behind them, I just pass them.

Your read is way off. It's not about policing the behavior of others, it's more about principle. When people obnoxiously demand things of you, you shouldn't give in. I'm not going out of my way to prevent people from driving fast. As I said, they can go around me and continue speeding all they like.

Maybe you missed what I said earlier about taking a stress-free approach to driving. I seriously don't sweat anything that happens on the road. I don't get mad when people cut me off or refuse to let me switch lanes. I don't even get mad when people tailgate me or drive too slow. All of this I shrug off, and even when I'm slowing down to get someone off my ass, I'm *giggling* as I do it most of the time.
