pretty bad when you have to skip out on your rent in mexico
you know, part of me wants to diffuse the situation a little with some jokes about what could have gone wrong between rosarita and pv, but knowing just how accessible true mortal horrors are in mexico, im going to just assume that everything is fine and hes just taking his time and isnt moldering in a landfill someplace.

So is it dangerous to drive from northwest Mexico (Rosarito) to Puerto Vallarta?
I keep hearing stories of some drug-war-torn places where the average traveler could be in some danger.
Like there was this guy, who vanished in February while motorcycling through Mexico, and his remains were found in July: http://www.cnn.com/2014/07/18/world/...erican-mexico/
Also it's like 1360 miles from Rosarito to PV, so that takes a few days to drive (at minimum).
Jewdonk was driving from Rosarito to Puerto Vallarta?
His vehicle probably broke down and is in an area with no cell phone coverage or internet service.

Puerto Vallarta is a lot better than Rosarito.

Just to be clear, I seriously doubt that Mort is coming south to Vallarta or anywhere else for that matter.
1) Unless he got a passport it would not be smart to go any deeper into Mexico then he already was (I talked with him about this). They give you a 30 mile grace period after the border without a passport, but then they have checkpoints at every state you go through. He wouldn't get far.
2) He would need a lot of traveling money that I don't believe he had.
3) I think he would have contacted me again through PM or IM before he started out.
In my opinion, if he left Mexico, he is back in the states again somewhere.
Also, I have driven from the Arizona border to Vallarta 4 times without incident. I have clients that do it every year and they haven't had any problems. I would only drive in the daytime and i would use the toll roads to avoid the little towns.
Maybe the guy that lived in the same building and posts here can weigh in on this subject.
Maybe he got a bicycle.
