When you are allowed an extra offensive player you clearly are going to have better stats and higher potential to score runs. What you said is if these teams went exclusiviely to the NL that they would dominate. That isnt true. Ask the Cubs how just spending out the ass has worked.

And your interleague stats actually prove MY point. Even given the extreme advantage of having an extra offensive weapon on their roster the AL teams have only won a mere 52% of interleague games. That is barely an edge at all! Looking at who has won which "interleague seasons" is asinine because you arent factoring in if the league won by 1 game or 50. 52% given a huge competitive advantage isnt really proving anything, IMO. Put it this way, do you want to get your ENTIRE bankroll in against a huge fish with a mere 52% edge or do you wait for a better spot? 52% is a coinflip essentially.

The cubs have not spent well that's why shit didn't work for them. Boston and New York have spent well which is why they have been in 9 of the last 15 series and have almost won half of them (7 total!!)

My stats do not prove your point. The AL has to play by your rules when they visit your parks.

If it is unfair then change the rules. Bottom line is the AL is superior to the NL

A prime argument against interleague play is the imbalance involved due to the fact that the NL has 16 teams while the AL has 14. As a result, all AL teams play 18 interleague games while the NL schedule has two formulas.Therefore the NL "good" teams arent getting to play as many interleague games as the "good" teams in the AL. This alone would account for the 52% win percentage. 2% difference based on this alone is feasible.

I've looked and I cant find it, but i would be very interested to see what the interleague play records are in AL parks vs NL parks?

Few points on this thread:

I would say that these teams have not spent well, it's just that having a $200 million payroll (compared to sa a $100 million payroll) allows you to eat one or two bad contracts. If the Diamondbacks, Devilrays, or even the Rangers signed Carl Crawford and he shit the bed as bad as he has the team would be set-back for close to a decade. On the flipside the Red Sox, Yankees and a couple other teams can afford the occasional Carl Crawford or Carl Pavano and just keep moving along.

As far as the AL being better than the NL I don't know how you can make this arguement and be so adamant about it. Interleague play has shown a small edge, but this doesn't reflect on say the Top 5 teams in each league. It also doesn't take into account that the interleague schedule forces some good NL teams to play the cream of the crop every year --Mets/Yankees, Braves/Red Sox, etc. What would the records be if the Mets got to play the Orioles more often? These "Rivalry" matchups just seems to work out in the AL's favor.

It's hard to quantify what is more advantagous, not having a DH on your roster, or having to sit your DH (usually one of your top 2 offensive players) in a NL park and having pitchers unaccustomed to hitting, hit. Since they will never do away with the DH, I'd personally like to see Baseball go to a 10-person batting order, with a DH and the pitcher hitting, best of both worlds.

Red Sox won 90 games in the toughest division in Baseball last year.

Same amount of wins SL had for wild card and SL plays in a shitty division

All 5 teams in the AL East were 500 or above heading into tonights games

IMO put that Red Sox team in the NL in any division and they win at least a game more than 90

I never said the red sox havent sucked since last August because I know they have. I am not even sure and never said they will make the playoffs this year. But most likely they would mop up in a division with Pitt houston and the cubs.

Yeah they are "royalty" alright!! Nice little 3 game sweep by the Birds of Bmore, stick it up your ass Baaastan. You see where all the frontrunning fans were in at the end of the 1st and 3rd extra inning games, nowhere to be fucking found. The "die hards" left the stadium empty and the BOOOOS were raining down all series long. It kind of looked like when Clemons made history and threw the 20k game, not a soul in the fucking stands because all the phony fans hadn't jumped on the bandwagon yet.

I feel bad for all those caaas in the paaaking lot over the green monsta, there were about 6 HR balls that almost smashed theah windshields over the weekend from all the O's bombs. Nothing like seeing ball after ball smashed out of the stadium while every pitcher gets lit up like a night ball game.

Maybe Bobby V can pull them all together.....hahahahha maybe not. That one pitch relief performance the other day was classic, what a decisive leader.

Will it last all year? Probably not but I will be basking in the glory of the LAST PLACE Red Sux as long as I can.
