They cannot help that the terrorist enemy is using their own people as human shields.

This is not collateral damage. This is the enemy using their own civilians to save their own skin.

The entire population of Israel is only 9 million. The metro area I live in has a lot more people than this. Israel really cant afford to fight a high casualty war.

The population of Gaza is 2 million with somewhere around 30,000 Hamas fighters who have been entrenched for decades with wide popular support.

Israel's military would be absolutely decimated using your strategy, and probably make them extremely vulnerable not just in the South but also from the East and North. I mean, you can argue Israel shouldn't be in Gaza at all because they dont have any way of winning without the collateral damage being too high, but you cant tell them they have to adopt a strategy that would have tremendous casualties on their side and guarantee they lose. That is a non starter.

Anyways, I dont know if it is the correct strategy or not, but for the first time in a long time Israel appears to actually be fighting to win. For a lot of reasons I think they realize time isn't on their side, and if the Palestinian situation continues to fester any longer, it will be intractable and they will most likely lose on the ground.

Well, obviously the population there has been completely radicalized and cant see any reason at all. But at any point in the last 75 years they could have just given up trying to erase a war they lost 75 years ago and their situation would be infinitely better.

I mean at the end of the day the entire focus of the Gaza population the last 75 years has been conquering Israel, and given their comparative economic and military strengths that isn't a recipe for things working out well.

What really screwed them up is all the "support" they get from the Muslim world and International aid to perpetuate the fight indefinitely. Without all this outside support, I dont know exactly how it would have worked out* but the situation would have resolved decades ago because there would have been no resources to continue the fight indefinitely, and people themselves would be in an infinitely better position.

The international community, especially Arab countries like Qatar funding the terrorist groups, have really put the Gaza population in a bad spot.

I also wont deny the fact that the Islamic Republic is the root problem here, but this still doesn't excuse Israel's original sin imo.
