Commerce's cash section has gotten pretty bad service-wise, to the point where it is almost self-serve.
There are no longer any food runners. You need to buy (and pay for) the food yourself.
There are barely any floormen around. They now empower props and chip runners to manage the board for games when the floorman isn't nearby.
The main cashier area (near the Asian games and former high limit section), which had 8 stations, now usually has 4 of the stations permanently closed, and sometimes 2-3 of the other side closed as well.
They have done away with the "new player" exemption for the time charge. Before, you would be out of the half-hourly time charge the first time it came around. That means if you sat down 25 minutes ago, you wouldn't pay it until the next half an hour, meaning that you could sometimes go almost an hour before paying any time charge. Not anymore. The second it comes around, you're required to pay. Occasionally they will make an exception to this, but it's hit and miss.
No more time charge collection freerolls for short games. New attitude is, "If it breaks, it breaks!"
The high limit games have been moved into the old main room, where the low stakes games were running for the past 20 years. You feel like you're in a different place.
Unfortunately this is where most of the high stakes limit holdem and Omaha is nowadays, so that's where you're stuck going. I like the atmosphere of the Bike a lot better.
