She withdrew from her individual competitions.
The new narrative is its “mental health” but what it really is is a form of vertigo where she can’t keep track of where she is when she’s twisting and turning in the air. This obviously being extremely dangerous for the level they are playing at.
If this is really what it is they could explain that a little better because it certainly changes things. “She quit” is a whole lot different than “she’s potentially going to break her neck”.
So the 6 time Olympic medalist, who has won countless world medals and championships and has won with broken toes and kidney stones and had years of her team doctor abusing her and her teammates has a terrible performance and realizes that her team has a better shot at a medal without her, steps away from the team event knowing she's gonna cost them the medal if she stays in and other teammates are in a better spot to win than her, and her team wins Silver. Going by her first performance, they weren't gonna medal at all with her in the comp.

Her 80% is not better than everyone else, that's dumb as shit when talking about the world's elites, and going off about her "horrible attitude" is so fucking stupid it's hard to put into words other than shut your fucking mouth, moron. MAybe the very best in the world at her sport has a better idea of if she's in a position to win or not when she goes out there than OP and all the other people who act like they know what's what.

My point is the narrative will be decidedly different because she's a young BLACK FEMALE. Thats just the "woke" environment we live in. If this is a young white male gymnast the reaction is different. It just is. She is catching her fair amount of shit but Ive seen a copious amount of people whole-heartedly supporting her as well. I just dont think you can be called the GOAT of your sport if you bow out at the pinnacle which only occurs once every 4 years. If Alex Morgan says she's not playing in the World Cup final because she's sad, I feel like the response would be different. I cant think of a better example. Maybe if Tiger withdrew from singles play on Sunday of a Ryder Cup for no apparent reason other than he was thinking about hookers? Would he get as much support as Simone Biles is?Quote:

Next time just make your point and skip the stilted, silly gotcha irrelevant comparisons, then.
Maybe one where it's a world wide all star competition where if something's wrong with the captain, other world class athletes are the replacements and the team still medals anyway. There really isn't any apt comparisons, IMO. It's a pretty singular competition.
For the Ryder cup, what if your boy started the Sunday round with the worst score on the team, and replaced himself with someone who came back and rallied the team? That's what happened, essentially.

Did you guys not see her first jumps? She was waaay off. This is literally the most important thing in her life, as it has been for the bulk of her life. She's accomplished more than anyone else, ever, in her sport, and she's in it longer than almost everybody. Something was clearly wrong. At what point do you give her at least the minimum amount of slack where she clearly knows if she performs, her team loses, which must be the most devastating thing to someone in her position?
