I know your comment wasn;t serious but still... There has never been an easier time in the world than now to form a cult. Widespread doubt in science and mainstream authority is at an all time high. Probably the biggest recruiting tool though is social media. QANON, die hard trumpists, anti vaxxers, crypto junkies, you name it. Counterculture is only going to get worse before it gets better. It will likely take another 9/11 type attack before the pendulum swings back.

If you haven't seen it, the HBO series on the Heaven's Gate cult is excellent. Before I watched that I had no idea they were in business for a couple decades before the mass suicide.
