I first camped as a 9-year-old. I was in the Cub Scouts and they had a camping trip in the southern CA mountains. Each kid had a parent take him, so my dad went with me. Kinda takes away from some of the enjoyment of being out in nature. I still like the idea of the campfire, looking at the stars, and the feeling that you're just out in the open.

There have been a few attempts to take Ben camping over the years, but something always failed and we didn't end up doing it (campsite full, bad weather, etc). I'll do it one of these days. But for me it just seems a lot more appealing to stay at a hotel nearby, see the nature during the day, and go back to the room at night.

I mean Holiday Inn's are just the worst. That really is for poor people. Stick to Marriott or Hilton chains. In a pinch maybe a Hyatt Place. But Holiday Inn is the same as a Comfort Inn. It's a step up from a Day's Inn, but that is about it. Do better.

At this point, unless it’s not available, I’m only staying at Marriott Autograph Collection hotels.

Hopefully he's missing because he went on the run, and not missing because he's dead. :/ I don't even KNOW Brad, never heard of him until this very thread, but hopefully he's still alive.

Most of these guys didn’t make it to the other side. We were so enthralled with the whole Poker lifestyle at one point. Woulda swapped lives in a heartbeat. Scary.

it really is a coin flip between self inflicted overdose in a cave someplace or faked his disappearance and is driving to costa rica.
