More United Airlines fail: First class seat force-canceled for regular passenger and given to Congresswoman

It is also hilarious how United outright lied to the media regarding the reason this woman was bumped.

Instead of stating that it's in their terms of service to bump passengers who paid with miles, they were too afraid of the PR fallout from that, so they just made up a completely bogus (and impossible to believe) reason, stating that the woman canceled it herself because of a weather delay.

Right.

She canceled it herself and showed up at the airport to take the flight anyway. And it just happened to be that a Congresswoman was now in her seat. What a coincidence!

Let's not forget that United already has a recent history of doing favors for politicians in power.

Dont you guys know who she is?!

As far as im concerned, She should even be listed by name on our 400 year old constitution!

So, what Lee said about how many white folks react when they see blacks seemingly getting an advantage is not beyond the pale.

I'm retracting my defense of this "awful human being". The Washingtonian's article summarizing their 2014 survey results linked by the first Fox News story supports the narrative that Lee is someone who abuses her power and tried to cover it in this case with race baiting.

Everyone is patting themselves on the back for "saving" the airlines after 9/11, but they have turned into cold, efficiency-obsessed, nickel-and-diming, authoritarian, abusive monsters, and politicians are afraid to do anything about it.

Btw, I believe the wronged customer was flying back home from Guatemala, and this was to be the final leg of the trip, as she lives in the DC area; which made the United "she canceled the flight" excuse even more laughable.
