Why does every running shoe/basketball shoe since like 1997 look like a fucking spaceship
with all the different colors and weird lines and shit

I get it this is a comfort first thread. Style is unimportant if you are on the court or just bumming around but wearing these types of runners to work has become popular in a world where people commonly remove their footwear on a plane and therapy dogs are frequent flyers.
The comfort issue is debateable. If you spend money on a quality traditional footwear, full grain leather and custom fit (not always necessary) you'll find your feet in a better place than surrounded by foam and plastic which can become a breeding ground for all things bacteria.
Back to style for a moment. Golfers, mostly men, have been called out for their attire for ages. They're guys so this will always be the case. The ugly sneaker golf shoe has now crept into the culture. Realizing most pros are paid to wear this or that is part of it, but in few circumstances do you want your feet to be the focus of attention.
Also on the tour, the "I'm fresh from the farm" look of wearing white belts has not yet been laughed off the course.

It's just opinions but I'd say that the Adidas ones look much smarter than those Asics. The Asics don't look good at all imo and it's because they're running trainers. Asics gel lyte are a better choice as you get the best of both worlds with comfort and street style combined.Quote:
