Attention Dodgers haters.

Bobby Miller has NOT been good since returning from a long DL stint. In fact, even his minor league rehab outings were not good (though he did manage to touch 99 on his fastball).

You can get the Diamondbacks for a pretty good dog line (like +165 since I last checked). The Dodgers lineup is also thin with Mookie and Muncy on the DL, though the bottom half has somehow performed lately.

Being a big Dodgers fan I will not bet against them, but if I weren't, I'd strongly consider betting Arizona today.

But you know what I will do? A first 5 over. Not only is Miller having problems, but so is Ryne Nelson, who will be taking over for Arizona opener Joe Mantiply.

Also... going with the Padres.

Absolutely brutalized on that Dodgers 5 inning over.

2-2 game and Dbacks have bases loaded nobody out in the top of the 4th. Tie minimum almost a lock, and winning is likely.

What happens? Nobody scores. Zeroes for the next 1.5 innings, and it's 2-2 after 5.

I’m not a world class athlete…but I am diabetic. Everyone is different, but day time insulin would typically be shot when you take your blood sugar right before a meal (If your blood sugar is above 150 typically). You inject a certain amount depending on how high your level is. If things are ok then there is no need to shoot. Nighttime insulin (long lasting) is typically taken before bed ,regardless of sugar level, mainly for precautionary reasons.

I will look into this because it is interesting. The thing is, on the court during physical exertion the main worry would be low blood sugar. The insulin would reduce his blood sugar level even more. So as a routine I would think eating/drinking things to keep his sugar level up would be much more important.

The only time I would think insulin would be needed on the court is if he over did it and ate or drank to much sugar. It does seem fishy if he is regularly taking shots of actual insulin during matches.

But I will look into it. It could be he consumes so much carbs during these tournaments that he has to shoot insulin as it turns to sugar. That would be the only thing that really makes sense to me.

Certainly on the other hand being diabetic in general is certainly a major disadvantage in really any sport. You are going to have days you feel like shit regardless. So I would generally not bet him to win a Grand Slam because he is diabetic. But interesting info.

Even in Golf im hesitant to bet guys not physically at least in pretty decent shape. The LPGA has a bunch of players who have great swings but lack consistency largely, in my belief, because they are not fit. I would look at a diabetic similar. Regardless of the shape they are in, they are going to have days where their legs feel heavy or they are light headed from letting their sugar drop or have a headache from letting it spike.

On another note Happy 4th everyone. I decided to take a week off from betting completely but will certainly have a play for the Evian next week for the LPGA.

* BTW I see Zverev is type 1 (from birth). So that’s a bit of a different beast and he may need to inject more regularly. But the stuff about being apprehensive to bet him (for me) in a Grand Slam stands.

Needless to say the Christian Walker Show. Dimwit Dave insists on pitching to Walker. The world is stunned by this performance. I’m sure it’s some higher level Doyer analytics at work.

Mookie yammering in the booth for 2 hours yesterday and then DJ’d the Dodger pool party this afternoon. Walker said 5 words post game.

If she wins a major this one would makes sense. Leads in strokes gains over last 3 years. 12-1 fair price.

I got nothing else solid this week. Haven’t had my normal routine I would be forcing it.

36 putts is brutal. So much for the winning putt helping her confidence. 36 putts is absurd and shooting par with that many isn’t going to lead to an even par round unless the ball striking is very good. It’s a shame she’s got a lot of work ahead. Shame.
