I agree the debates are meaningless, but I have watched a lot of interviews with Joe the last few months, and he is not well. He read off the prompter last night fine, but two hours on a stage with no breaks is going to be brutal. Biden is an old 77 and Trump is a relative young 73. Either way, I agree with the premise, Trump is likely ahead but if the virus goes nuts in a couple months it really will come down to whom will wait in line to vote. And then its a coin flip. Under that scenario, probably Biden.

"There is a gang that has been hanging around the 7-11 recently, featured in a thread yesterday. It seems to be them, not the protest regulars.

First they pulled guns on the people running Riot Ribs and stole their donations and tent. Now they've moved on to robbing the general public. They've beaten up protesters and medics, they've beaten up homeless people. The guy in the truck tried to intervene while 3 women were beating up a crying trans woman and he got chased down and nearly killed. These people are going to pick the wrong target eventually and get shot.

Alt-right media is ablaze with claims that protesters did this but it seems more likely that it's the same criminals in that area that have been mugging and assaulting everyone at random lately. I don't want to promote alt-right accounts but you can find videos of when they're beating the woman and the driver tries to help. They don't look like they're part of the protest. Wrong clothes, no gear, no masks, no shields, no signs, etc. Some people I know say they do recognize people in the videos as part of the gang that assaulted Riot Ribs, although admittedly that's hearsay.

And before anyone asks, yes, many people have definitely called the police for this specific incident and shared the ID of the alleged kicker."

...sounds more likely. The people in the video aren't exactly wearing "riot gear". And they appear to do very little to avoid being identified. Those are two things Antifa does for a reason.

Yes, there's some guesswork involved here. But it's not difficult guesswork.

Antifa is not a centrally-directed group, nor does it have official membership rolls. People can decide they are Antifa and commit Antifa-style attacks for reasons advocated by Antifa, and that means they're Antifa. There isn't any kind of acceptance process. Antifa is basically a loose association of far-left agitators who get together and commit acts of violence to achieve their goals. The semantics in defining exactly what makes Antifa are unimportant. It's clearly a movement, clearly a huge problem in cities like Portland, and clearly needs to be dealt with.

Anyone who says, "We don't know if that was Antifa" when left-wing political violence occurs is missing the point.

i don't think many people past the age of 40 are into mass insurgence. Who enjoys the scenes of unrest? But that sentiment will not stop those who are truly affected, those who see no future, those who feel oppressed.

You can slam Antifa or any group you wish but it will not sway them. There is a reason for this effort. We all know what it is. And if no change is forthcoming, it will come.
