Of course it is!!! Trump was trying use the immense power of the Office of the President to illegally extort a US ally to personally benefit himself in his bid to get re-elected as president!!! Case fucking closed!!!

you dont want to know how many of our thermonuclear war games projections start with russian aggression against the ukraine. and if we just fuck off and let them take ukraine, other adjacent nations are fair game. and once they get away with that, it's domino theory all over again but we have no allies, no treaties, no leverage, a crippled intelligence community, and a civil war brewing.

its weird to me that people want to see that happen but i live on 2 wooded acres with a trout stream, an organic garden, and a lot of wild game so its really not my problem all said and done.

armament is a deterrent. the goal is to make an invasion as expensive as possible basically. i dont have a personal opinion on whether or not its a winning play but when the brains at Rand sign off on it thats pretty much good enough for me. not to mention, it guarantees us that we can post up a whole lot of sigint gear on russias literal border, which is always nice.

tbh id be perfectly fine with russia repatriating ukraine but ukraine seems to have some feelings about living under putin's boot, which i respect because its a pretty fucking terrible boot to live under.

It's ultimately for the Pentagon and the defense contractors. War is the second biggest business in America, after health care.

If we really wanted to prevent this, have a strong policy, get the country behind it, and go kick some ass. War by proxy is weaksauce.

And you may well be right about giving money to Ukraine, but once the money is allocated, Trump threatening to withhold it to extract a personal favor is criminal and absolutely impeachable.

I feel like chances of witnesses swung from 15% to like 75% in past 12 hours, which would extend the trial a week or two, or much longer if any witness challenges subpoena in court.

Pretty big deal.

Lindsey Graham’s stance on Biden’s son makes me wonder if he has a child that was ever given a position because of Lindsey and not because of their qualifications. If not Graham, I think it’s pretty obvious there are other politicians who's kids benefited from their parent’s political office. They don’t want this bag of worms opened.
