also from a legal perspective, the killing of soleimani is morphing into a straight forward assassination. there were no warnings to embassies, no travel advisories for americans, no briefing congress. both of these would happen automatically if there was a credible imminent threat. and trump himself is saying they were trying to get soleimani for a while and he was under direct pressure from gop hawks for some time to do so, totally contradicting everything he and pompeo trotted out to justify this after the fact.
it would be very unlike iran to simply get over this and move on.

Trump's got a lucky horseshoe up his ass. Taking Soleimani off the board apparently has forced a HUGE error from the Iranian regime with this airplane fiasco.
The "outrage" over Soleimani was bordering on martyrdom but that has been replaced with rage against the Iranian machine for this bumbling buffoonery regarding the downing of the plane.

I’ve never seen anyone run so well for so long. Basically his entire life. Even his business life is astounding.
