Something seems fishy here. Watch the video and read the highlighted part of the article.
1. How did the cops know the guy was out of ammo?
2. Even if they somehow knew for sure he was out of clips, the chief mentions them throwing explosives, and possibly being wired with bombs on themselves. Why would the cops just bumrush the guy?
3. The brother somehow only ran over his own brother without hitting any of the cops?
IMO, a BPD ran this fool over during a break in the shooting. I'm still glad the fuckhead is dead, but this sure smells like a coverup, and could explain how the younger brother was able to get away so easily.
was the gunfight between the older brother and the cop like this?

this and\or random check of people with backpack or bags. i assume that a bomb big enough to do a lot of damage would weigh a decent amount, could be some of the criteria for checks, the security and police really are not doing much other than looking around for trouble and directing crowds and traffic i assume.
You and every thing about you is a joke! The one time you make some reasonable comment you do it by accident confirms the fact that you are nothing more than a toothless hillbilly looser.
Random check like what I commented on is a reality in many countries with problems like this.
You shot yourself in the foot when you said 'this', indicating that you would, indeed, think it is totally acceptable to ban large backpacks for everyone at all times. Now that I have said that, please don't actually go shoot yourself in the foot, we already have 9 toe cleatus.
Technology could do this. With much more accuracy than random bag checks and all. It creates other problems though. One is money, the U.S credit is not the best it's ever been, and we are short of printing money. Would not be surprised if this now justifies a reason for an advance in domestic surveillance on multiple levels though, including forums if you think about it.
Always thought you posts were tight, you have unique perspective on things.
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worl...at-wounds.htmlQuote:
Boston bomb suspect cannot speak as doctors treat throat wounds
Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, the Boston bombing suspect, remains unable to speak as he undergoes treatment for a gunshot wound to the throat in hospital, officials have said as inquiries focus on what turned two young men into Islamic terrorists.
The 19-year-old is "serious but stable. I think not able to communicate yet," Deval Patrick, the Massachusetts governor said after attending a tribute to the victims of Monday's bomb attacks that left three dead and about 180 injured.
CBS television quoted investigators as saying that Tsarnaev suffered two serious wounds and had lost a lot of blood. It said investigators had speculated that one wound in the back of his neck could have been a suicide attempt.
"They say it appears from the wound that he might have stuck a gun in his mouth and fired," said the report, which added that Tsarnaev could understand what those around him were saying.
Tsarnaev was detained on Friday. His elder brother Tamerlan was killed in a shootout with police earlier in the day during a massive manhunt.
Gov Patrick said he hopes the teenaged suspect survives. "We have a million questions and those questions need to be answered," he added.
BTW, why would it surprise you? In certain ways he has practiced apologizing and sometimes being too careful imo not to offend certain organizations. But then on the other hand I guess he has been pretty offensive (especially compared other presidents)in other areas, so to be fair I could still only consider the part you bolded from me partially true. Either way, "one of the stupidest things you have ever seen parroted on this board?" Oh please.
They probably should and will barracde off certain areas and do backpack checks. Every time you enter a mall or pretty much anywhere in the Philippines you have to go through a line and have your bag checked. The checks they do are pretty much a joke, but I think it at least deters people from carrying bombs etc
Also, youll pretty much never find a big trashcan anywhere any place in those countries. Because people drop bombs in them. Doing away with trash cans, and just having people walking around collecting the trash is a good replacement. Also could create some extra work for people
Yup. They already do this at ballgames, and it doesn't seem like a really big deal to me...just takes an extra few seconds.
The problem with this whole backpack argument though is that the terrorist will simply adapt imo. I realize a pressure cooker or similar bomb takes up alot of space, but many other types of explosives are small and fairly easy to conceal. If a terrorist wants to get something in, one way or another he will sooner or later get something in.
true it would be a problem to outright ban backpacks and large bags. During the Olympics there were a very large amount of police and security at venues and on the street, if you had a backpack or bag you may have to submit to a extra line of scrutiny than people with nothing.
also in reality the organizers of a gathering could reserve the right to refuse entry to any one carrying backpacks or what ever they wish, for the safety of there guests.
Meh, with the one's travel record coming out and the social media postings this is a classical radicalization recruitment. The issue now becomes which of the weirdo's overseas did he visit and get his marching orders and training from?
As for the one getting away from the cops.. throw a couple of grenades out the window and see if Johnny Paycheck comes running after you.
It's possible LE ran the brother over, but I wouldn't say it's likely. Listening to it go down that night, they got real scared when the first pressure cooker hit the pavement. I agree it's incredibly rare that a kid could evade that type of dragnet and get away, but the situation was atypical. They were in constant pull back and assemble at a safe distance mode the entire time after the initial melee. They were basically giving him a head start at each phase of the chase because of their reluctance to run head first into an explosion.
The details on this are super fucking sketchy from the top down but Im resisting the temptation to leap fill in minor gaps in logic with huge sweeping strokes of absolute bullshit.
I absolutely do not understand how the cops can go from a firefight with 2 subjects at 70 meters to one dead and one *fucking gone*.
Carjackers on Cops get away approximately once ever never.
Where were the helicopters? Where was the police pursuit?
This shit is beyond ludicrous but its considerably less unlikely than the cops running over Tamerlane and blaming his brother.
The sad truth is almost certainly that when you militarize a civilian police force, instead of obtaining the best of both worlds (a sophisticated and saavy strike force with top-down discipline, well trained and ready to use knowledge of the local theater to its advantage), you end up with the worst; weekend warriors with shitty aim and absolutely no ability to adapt or think on its feet.
At the end of the day, I believe the reality at bar is simple; the FBI were unable to orchestrate a significant attack using a bullshit honky civilian militia, and that same basic inability to orchestrate solutions hamstrung the effort to mitigate white hats escape.
What I take away from this ultimately is that the entire post-9/11 doctrine of a civilian/military police force has been exposed as a farce.
The way that I understand the timeline is that THE DRAGNET is not what responded to the 7-11 robbery, but just a couple of cruisers at the most, i'm guessing here, 4 cops. Also that the pair of bombers were not the ones robbing the Sev, but some other douche, which was the one they stripped naked before they arrested him, giving us the odd stories at first that there was one dead and one captured but then changed to one dead and one got away with a random naked guy in custody. So no coptors in flight at the time, no armored swat vans and no IR predator drones, just 4 guys that shot both suspects, killed one and the other chucked a fucking bomb at the cops, so they let him be.. for now (then).
So two patrol cars responding to a killed cop and an armed 7-11 robbery, which had already been (mistakenly) branded as the work of 2 international terrorist mass murderers, stumble across the *actual* international terrorist mass murderers, engage in a protracted gunfight with them, get bombs thrown at them, etc etc etc, brother rushes at them ostensibly with a faulty explosive device, white hat backs up and *runs over his brother* ***while they are cuffing him***, then just drives off into the night?
Im sorry but even if there werent two international terrorist mass murderers on the loose, 2 patrol cars under fire and no one sends in a chopper? Forget drones (which is of course absurd but hey), am I to believe there were no choppers in the air during the largest manhunt in 13 years, possibly much longer?
There is no logical way to explain that without either inventing a conspiracy or accepting that what we are looking at is a failure of command so extravagant and vulgar that it borders on the legal definition of treason.
Barrrryyyyy, come out to play-ayyy!
The most absurd part was they were supposedly keeping a lookout for the people in the video / pics that they were going to, but stopped short of arresting and throw in that these guys went out in public together to a place they must have known had a security cam. I mean i'm with you, but all the stuff we haven't seen has been pretty convoluted. Wish I had the scanner on to hear the Sev takedown, it must have been bananas.
Does it trouble anybody that an American citizen can be held without any legal representation whatsoever? As in not getting read his miranda rights?
OK it feels justified in this instance. But this new law could be totally open to abuse in future cases that won't even make your local news.
Feels to me anyway, that all these so-called civilized nations have been chipping away at our basic rights at a scary speed of knots over the last decade or so.
Interesting article on it
http://www.slate.com/articles/news_a...terrorism.html
In our country for instance, the terrorism act has been abused to fuck with many people getting held for months without charge who've had no connection to terrorism at all. Wouldn't surprise me if you have a similar law that is abused just as much.
Governments are far less accountable for their actions than ever before, and squeeze out even more of our civil liberties every chance they get.
We're not as free as we like to believe we are imo.

''Mike Rogers, a Republican congressman from Michigan, is a former FBI agent. He said on Sunday that the FBI had done "a very thorough job" of vetting Tamerlan Tsarnaev after the Russian intelligence service flagged him in early 2011 as a possible Islamic radical. Rogers said he didn't think the bureau had missed anything significant.''
